Minnesota has been great across the board

The Wild are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.26 goals per game with 19 goals in the last four games. Kirill Kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek, and Matt Boldy have scored 76 goals and 90 assists while Brock Faber and Quinn Hughes have added 16 goals and 52 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has carried the Wild lately but the defense has been great as well, allowing only 2.82 goals per game. Brock Faber and Jonas Brodin have combined for 7.4 defensive point shares while Quinn Hughes and Jared Spurgeon have combined for 4.5 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Filip Gustavsson has been great in the net lately, allowing only four goals in the last two starts.

Key injury report for Wild

  • Jesper Wallstedt is day-to-day. Is the backup goaltender.

Predators hope defense improves

The Predators are having a rocky season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.89 goals per game. Ryan O’Reilly and Filip Forsberg have combined for 43 goals and 55 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only five skaters have 10 goals or more and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has carried them, allowing 3.42 goals per game with 19 goals in the last five games. Brady Skjei and Roman Josi have combined for 4.4 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Juuse Saros has struggled in his latest starts, allowing eight goals in the last two.

Wild vs Predators Pick

Money Line Pick For Wild vs Predators

  • Wild (-130) (4 units)

The Predators are on a hot streak but the Wild have won four games in a row and they look to take over this game from the first period. The Wild, who average 3.26 goals per game, should pile on the goals against the Predators, who allow 3.42 goals per game, with Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone while creating open shots with quick passes. The Wild, who allow only 2.82 goals per game, should limit the Predators offense with Brock Faber, Quinn Hughes, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Filip Gustavsson to make plenty of big saves. The Wild should win the game with a strong performance on the road.

Take the Wild money line as road Favorites.

Over/Under Pick For Wild vs Predators

  • Over 6 (5 Units)

The Wild have been incredible on offense, and this game looks to be a high-scoring one from the opening puck drop. The Predators should create plenty of scoring chances with Ryan O’Reilly, Filip Forsberg, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone while creating open shots with quick passes. The Wild, who have scored 19 goals in the last four games, should run up the score against the Predators, who have allowed 19 goals in the last five games, with Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, Joel Eriksson Ek, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence while creating open shots with effective puck movement as Quinn Hughes and Brock Faber pick apart the Predators defense from the point. The Over should cover in a high-scoring game with both offenses stepping up.

Take the Over on 6 goals.
