Blackhawks Looking for First Win of Season

Chicago managed to emerge with a point in Boston Thursday night but ended up falling in overtime on the road. Against Boston, Chicago hung tough but ended up falling short in the extra session. After giving up the opening goal, Chicago tied the score on Connor Bedardโ€™s first goal of the year at 8:19, with assists going to Andre Burakovsky and Colton Dach. Canadiens vs. Blackhawks Pick

Canadiens vs. Blackhawks Moneyline Pick

  • Canadiens -140 (4 units)

Montrealโ€™s Original Six road swing to start the season continues here as they faced Toronto and Detroit before heading to the Windy City for this one. The Canadiens bounced back from that loss to the Maple Leafs by battering the Red Wings. Chicago managed to earn a point in their OT loss to Boston following a one-goal loss to Florida to open the year. The Canadiens have an advantage between the pipes here, which should offset the fact that they are playing their third game in four nights. Chicago is still relying heavily on youth and that can be tough to lean on, especially early in the year as they are trying to find the right line combos. Montreal skates away with the win in this contest.

Canadiens vs. Blackhawks Over/Under Pick

  • Over 5.5 (-135) (4 units)

Montreal has seen the over post a 1-0-1 mark on this season. The Canadiens have an average total of 6.50 goals per game, with both games coming on the road. Last season, Montreal saw an average total of 6.15 goals per game last season and that number bumps to 6.27 goals per game on the road. Chicago has split their two games in relation to the total with an average total of six goals per game. Last season, the Blackhawks had an average total of 6.29 goals per game and that number jumped to 6.51 goals per game on home ice. The over is 2-0-1 in the last three meetings between the teams and this number seems low. Take the over in this contest as a result.
