Nashville hopes offense improves

The Predators are having a rough season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.82 goals per game. Ryan O’Reilly and Filip Forsberg have scored 27 goals and 37 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only five skaters have eight goals or more, and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has also let them down, allowing 3.34 goals per game. Brady Skjei and Adam Wilsby have combined for 2.4 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Juuse Saros has struggled lately, allowing six goals in his last two starts.

Key injury report for Predators

  • Jonathan Marchessault is day-to-day. Has seven goals and three assists.

Golden Knights are led by a great offense

The Golden Knights are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.14 goals per game with 14 goals in the last three games. Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner have scored 21 goals and 60 assists while Mark Stone, Ivan Barbashev, and Tomas Hertl have combined for 36 goals and 53 assists to give the Golden Knights multiple great forward lines.

The offense has carried them but the defense has also stepped up, allowing 2.97 goals per game. Shea Theodore and Kaeden Korczak have combined for 4.6 defensive point shares while Brayden McNabb and Ben Hutton have combined for 3.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Akira Schmid has stepped up in the net, allowing only 10 goals in his last four starts.

Predators vs Golden Knights Pick

Money Line Pick For Predators vs Golden Knights

  • Golden Knights -1.5 (+120) (4 units)

The Predators have looked good lately and look to pull off the upset but the Golden Knights are having a great season, and they look to take over this game from the first period. The Golden Knights, who average 3.14 goals per game, should pile on the goals with Jack Eichel, Mitch Marner, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone while creating open shots with quick passes. The Golden Knights, who allow only 2.97 goals per game, should limit the Predators offense, which averages only 2.82 goals per game, with Shea Theodore, Brayden McNabb, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Akira Schmid to make plenty of big saves. The Golden Knights should win the game and cover the spread in a dominant performance on their home ice.

Over/Under Pick For Predators vs Golden Knights

  • Over 5.5 (5 Units)

The Golden Knights have a great offense, and I see this game becoming a high-scoring one from the opening puck drop. The Predators should create plenty of scoring chances with Filip Forsberg, Ryan O’Reilly, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone while creating open shots with quick passes. The Golden Knights, who have scored 14 goals in the last three games, should run up the score against the Predators, who allow 3.34 goals per game, with Jack Eichel, Mitch Marner, Ivan Barbashev, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence and creating open shots with effective puck movement to overwhelm the Predators defense. The Over should cover in a high-scoring game with both offenses stepping up.

Take the Over on 5.5 goals.

The Predators face the Golden Knights with both teams looking to improve in the Western Conference.
