Devils have struggled on offense

The Devils are having a rough season with their offense letting them down, scoring only 2.71 goals per game, with only five goals in the last three games. Jesper Bratt, Nico Hischier, and Dawson Mercer have scored 28 goals and 57 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only six skaters have eight goals or more, and opponents can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.

The offense has let the Devils down but the defense has also struggled, allowing 3.00 goals per game. Luke Hughes and Brenden Dillon have combined for 3.5 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and find open shots on the net. The bright spot has been the play of goaltender Jacob Markstrom, who has stepped up lately, allowing only five goals in his last three starts.

Devils vs Maple Leafs Pick

Money Line Pick For Devils vs Maple Leafs

  • Maple Leafs (-110) (4 units)

The Devils are looking to bounce back from three losses in a row but the Maple Leafs have earned points in each of their last three games and look to take over this one from the first period. The Maple Leafs, who average 3.26 goals per game, should pile on the goals with John Tavares, William Nylander, and the rest of the forward unit controlling the puck in the offensive zone while creating open shots with quick passes. The Maple Leafs should limit a Devils offense that has scored only five goals in the last three games with Jake McCabe, Troy Stetcher, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while goaltender Joseph Woll blanks the shots on the net. The Maple Leafs should win the game with a strong performance on their home ice.

Take the Maple Leafs money line as home Favorites.

Over/Under Pick For Devils vs Maple Leafs

  • Over 6.5 (5 Units)

The two teams have struggled on defense, and this game looks to be a high-scoring one from the opening puck drop. The Devils should pile on the goals against the Maple Leafs, who allow 3.37 goals per game, with Jesper Bratt, Dawson Mercer, and the rest of the forward unit carrying the puck into the offensive zone while creating open shots with quick passes. The Maple Leafs, who have scored 15 goals in their last three games, should run up the score against the Devils, who allow 3.00 goals per game, with John Tavares, William Nylander, Matthew Knies, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence while creating open shots with effective puck movement to overwhelm the Devils defense. The Over should cover in a high-scoring game with both offenses stepping up.

Take the Over on 6.5 goals.

The Devils head to Toronto to face the Maple Leafs with both teams looking to improve in the Eastern Conference and jump into a playoff position.
