New York Islanders at Philadelphia Flyers Pick and Prediction for Saturday, October 25th, 2025
The Philadelphia Flyers (3-3-1) will host the New York Islanders (4-3-0) early on Saturday. Last season, these teams split their four head-to-head meetings. The split included each team winning once on the road and at home.

Islanders bringing the offense
The New York Islanders have won four straight games, including victories over the Oilers 4-2 at home, the Senators 5-4 on the road, and the Sharks 4-3 and the Red Wings 7-2 at home. In Thursday’s win over Detroit, the Islanders got two goals from Emil Heineman and three assists from Anders Lee to lead the way. David Rittich got the start in net with 32 saves on 34 shots. The Islanders will now go back on the road, where they are 1-1 this season.
New York’s offense has been strong, ranking fourth in the NHL with 3.9 goals per game and seventh with 30.4 shot attempts per game. Bo Horvat leads the team with nine points on the season.
On the defensive end, the Islanders rank 28th, allowing 31 shots and 3.4 goals per game. In goal, David Rittich is 2-0 with a 2.01 GAA and .939 save percentage, while Ilya Sorokin is 2-3 with a 3.90 GAA and .873 save percentage.
The Flyers have been strong at home
The Flyers are back home after a 2-1 road loss to the Ottawa Senators, in a game they led early. Philadelphia is 3-1 at home this season and has won its last two games at Xfinity Mobile Arena, most recently beating the Seattle Kraken 5-2 and the Minnesota Wild 2-1. Sean Couturier leads the team with eight points and six assists, while Owen Tippett leads with five goals.
As a team, the Flyers rank 22nd in scoring at 2.7 goals per game and 32nd in shot attempts with 21.9 per contest. Defensively, they have been much stronger, ranking 10th in goals allowed at 2.6 per game and 13th in shots allowed at 26.6 per game.
As for the goalies, Dan Vladar has gone 3-2 with a 1.81 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage through five starts. Samuel Ersson has appeared in two games, going 0-1-1 with a 3.88 GAA and .849 save percentage.
New York Islanders vs Philadelphia Flyers predictions
Moneyline Prediction:
- New York Islanders +110 (4 units)
As the home team, the Flyers are favored, but the dog holds the value here. Both teams have been able to win on the road in this series recently, with New York going 3-1 in their last four games against the Flyers in Philadelphia. The Islanders also hold much more upside on the offensive end, and have gotten a defensive boost in games that David Rittich has started this season at goalie. Rittich is a 33-year-old veteran, was with the Los Angeles Kings last season.
The Flyers are dead last in the NHL in offensive shot attempts, giving them less room for error. When New York gets going, they have shown they can embarrass teams, so I have to back them here for plus money.
Total Prediction:
- Over 6 (4 units)
The Flyers are 6-1 to the over so far this season, and even though the Flyers are a lower-scoring, defensive-minded club, the over has still cashed in four of their last six games. With the early start time on Saturday, I’m not going to ignore some of the trends. New York has gone 7-0-1 to the over in their last eight Saturday games, and Philadelphia has played in four straight overs against winning teams. We just saw the Islanders light up the Red Wings for seven goals by themselves. I will take the over here.
