New York Rangers at Calgary Flames, Picks and Prediction, Sunday, October 26, 2025
The Calgary Flames (1-7-1) will host the New York Rangers (3-4-2) on Sunday. The Rangers are coming in with a 3-0-1 road record this season, and the Flames will be looking for their first home win of the season.
Last year, the Flames went 2-0 against the Rangers, winning as a +140 home underdog and +230 road underdog. Check out this Flames vs. Rangers prediction below and more of our free NHL Picks.

Getting out of town may be good for the Rangers
After three straight trips to the playoffs, which included two losses in the Eastern Conference Final, the Rangers missed the playoffs last season, finishing with a 39-36-7 record. This season, New York is off to a tough start, which includes losing five of its last six games, with four of those losses coming at home. On Thursday, the Rangers fell 6-5 in overtime to the lowly San Jose Sharks. Now the club will begin a four-game road trip in Calgary.
The Rangers’ offense has struggled, ranking 31st in the NHL in shooting percentage and scoring with 2.3 goals per game, despite ranking seventh in shots per game. Adam Fox (five assists, two goals) and Artemi Panarin (three goals, four assists) lead the team with seven points each.
On defense, New York ranks third, allowing just 2.3 goals per game. Igor Shesterkin has started seven of nine games in net and is 2-3-2 with a 1.86 goals-against average and .930 save percentage across three starts.
Flames on an 8-game losing streak
The Calgary Flames have missed the playoffs in three consecutive seasons, and with the way things have started, they appear to be on their way to another disappointing season. Last season, the Flames went 41-27-14 and missed the postseason on a tiebreaker with the St. Louis Blues.
Calgary opened the season with a 4-3 win over Edmonton in an overtime shootout on the road, but since then, it has been nothing but losses. The Flames have been held to two goals or fewer in seven of their nine games. As a team, they are last in goals per game, averaging 1.7, and also last in shooting percentage. Nazem leads the team with five points on the season (four assists, one goal).
On defense, Calgary ranks 29th, allowing 3.8 goals per game. Dustin Wolf has played in every game except one and is 1-6-1 with a 3.68 goals-against average and .874 save percentage.
Rangers vs. Flames predictions
Moneyline pick for Rangers vs. Flames
- Rangers -135 (4 units)
Although Calgary has home ice, that could be a good thing for New York, as its success has been on the road this season.
Although both offenses have struggled, New York has managed at least four goals four times this season, while the Flames have only reached the three-goal mark once. I can’t get behind the Flames until they can put together a win, especially at a price this light. Take New York.
Total pick for Rangers vs. Flames
- Under 5.5 (5 units)
Although Calgary has struggled defensively, these are the bottom two teams in the NHL in goals scored per game and shooting percentage. The Rangers are also elite defensively. In the series head-to-head, the last five meetings have ended with five goals or fewer, and I expect the low scoring to continue. I will take the under.
