Canadiens vs Sabres
Buffalo comes into this matchup listed as the favourite, but the circumstances point toward a tighter contest than the odds suggest. Montreal is fresh off a tough overtime road loss two nights ago, and that kind of game can sharpen a team rather than deflate it. The Canadiens also bring the more productive offense into this matchup, which could be the difference-maker and help tilt the outcome in their favour.
Flyers vs Penguins
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh have been fairly even when matched up this season, especially on the offensive side where both clubs hover around three goals per game. With two capable scoring attacks facing off, this one sets up for a higher-scoring affair. I see this game landing in the 4-3 range, which would comfortably push the total over 6.5.
Sharks vs Capitals
San Jose enters as the underdog, and for good reason. Washington holds the edge on both ends of the ice, boasting a stronger attack and a more reliable defensive unit. With the Capitals playing structured hockey and limiting chances, it’s easy to envision them controlling the pace and keeping the Sharks’ offense in check en route to a win.

Canucks vs Blue Jackets
Both Vancouver and Columbus have had their struggles this season, but the Blue Jackets look like the more complete team heading into this one. They’ve shown more consistency offensively and have been sturdier defensively when compared side by side with the Canucks. That overall balance gives Columbus the advantage in this matchup.
Kraken vs Bruins
Boston clearly owns the talent edge in this game, but the real value may be found in the total. With the line sitting at 5.5, this shapes up as a defensive battle where scoring could be hard to come by. Neither offense is well-suited to break through these disciplined defensive units, making the under a strong play.
Jets vs Wild
Winnipeg has had a rough go of it on the road this season, managing just seven wins compared to 13 losses away from home. That trend doesn’t bode well against a Minnesota team that has been excellent on its own ice, losing only five times at home. With those splits, the Wild are in a strong position to come out on top.
Flames vs Blackhawks
Neither of these teams has had an impressive season, but the reasons differ. Chicago’s struggles can largely be attributed to injury issues, while Calgary’s problems stem from inconsistent play and costly mistakes. Even with the Flames matching up well on paper, I like the Blackhawks to be the sharper team in this spot.
Stars vs Mammoth
Dallas has enjoyed a strong season so far, but the Mammoth have also been playing solid hockey. With both teams emphasising defence and limiting high-quality chances, this matchup should be tightly contested. That style points toward a lower-scoring game, making the under the preferred option.
Islanders vs Oilers
These two teams appear evenly matched at first glance, but injuries tip the scale. Edmonton comes into this game relatively healthy, while the Islanders are dealing with some question marks, especially surrounding leading scorer Bo Horvat. That disparity gives the Oilers a clear edge in this matchup.
Maple Leafs vs Golden Knights
Toronto hasn’t lived up to its storied reputation this season, sitting just seven games above .500 overall and four games below .500 on the road. Meanwhile, Vegas has been tough to beat, suffering only six road losses all year. With that kind of consistency, I don’t see the Golden Knights slipping up here as they secure another victory.
