The NHL betting action continues Thursday, December 4, 2025, with the 10-game card, including the Pacific Division showdown at Rogers Place in Edmonton, AB, so we’ve prepared the Kraken vs. Oilers prediction to get you covered.
Seattle and Edmonton lock horns for the third time this season. They split the previous two encounters. Seattle outlasted Edmonton 3-2 as a +145 home dog on October 25, and the Oilers responded with a 4-0 victory at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle this past Saturday, playing as -150 road favorites.
Let’s look closer at this Kraken vs. Oilers prediction, one of our NHL picks for Thursday night. Edmonton opens as a -235 home fave with a total of 5.5 goals, and the puck drop is set at 9:00 PM ET.
The Kraken are on a three-game slide
The Seattle Kraken have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the league this season. They have yet to win three games in a row, and the Kraken are riding a three-game losing streak for the first time in 2025-26.

After a 1-0 shootout defeat at the New York Islanders on November 23, the Kraken have dropped consecutive home games against the Dallas Stars 3-2 and the Edmonton Oilers 4-0. During that three-game stretch, Seattle has scored just two goals on 73 shots, while Joey Daccord has amassed 73 stops with a .912 save percentage.
Daccord is expected to get another starting call when the Kraken visit Edmonton on Thursday night. The 29-year-old netminder is 7-5-4 with a 2.68 GAA, .902 save percentage, and two shutouts in 2025-26. Seattle allows 2.63 goals per game (tied for 6th in the NHL) but scores just 2.46 goals in return (31st).
Jaden Schwartz leads the way for the Kraken with eight goals and seven assists, but the 33-year-old center is on the IR and will miss at least a month with a lower-body injury. Defenseman Brandon Montour (G5, A8) and winger Mason Marchment (G2, A9) are both questionable for Thursday’s game against Edmonton.
The Oilers are back on the losing track
The Edmonton Oilers have dropped five of their previous seven games overall. They’ve gone 2-2-0 in their past four outings, alternating wins and losses in the process. The Oilers have beaten the Florida Panthers 6-3 and the Seattle Kraken 4-0 on the road while losing home games against the Dallas Stars 8-3 and the Minnesota Wild 1-0.
Last Tuesday, Edmonton failed to score on 33 shots toward Jesper Wallstedt. The Oilers went 0-for-3 with the man advantage and killed both of Minnesota’s power-play opportunities. Stuart Skinner gave up one goal on 24 shots, falling to 9-8-3 on the season.
Skinner has a 2.90 GAA, .888 save percentage, and two shutouts in 2025-26, while Calvin Pickard is 2-3-2 with an ugly 4.04 GAA and a .847 save percentage. The Oilers allow 3.48 goals per game (29th in the NHL) and score 3.00 goals in return (tied for 17th).
Center Connor McDavid leads the charge for Edmonton with 11 goals and 25 assists, while fellow center Leon Draisaitl has amassed 15 goals and 16 assists this season. Edmonton cannot count on center Jack Roslovic (G10, A8), who’ll miss a couple of weeks with an undisclosed injury.
Kraken vs. Oilers Pick
Spread Pick for Kraken vs. Oilers
- Edmonton Oilers -1.5 (5 units)
Last Saturday, the Oilers played their best game of the season. Edmonton killed all six of Seattle’s power-play opportunities while going 2-for-2 with the man advantage. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each had a goal and an assist, while Stuart Skinner posted 26 saves.
After failing to score against Minnesota, the Oilers must be fired up to replicate that performance against Seattle. The Kraken haven’t played since last Saturday, and they will miss their leading scorer, which is a huge blow for Seattle’s slumping offense.
Hereof, I won’t overthink this game. The Oilers have been underwhelming this season, and they have to win games like this one.
Over/Under Pick for Kraken vs. Oilers
- Under 5.5 (5 units)
The Kraken heavily rely on their defense and Joey Daccord, who’s allowed nine goals over his last four starts (1-2-1 record). On the other side, Stuart Skinner has been far from his top form this season, but he’s only allowed one goal over his last two starts.
The total is a tricky wager because of the Oilers’ shaky blueline. Also, I don’t like a 5.5-goal line. But given the Kraken’s sturdy defense and awful offense, betting on the under looks like a way to go. Eight of Seattle’s last 10 games overall have produced five or fewer goals in total.
The only thing I’m worried about is Seattle’s penalty killing (69.2%, 31st in the NHL). Edmonton boasts the third-best power-play percentage in the league (28.8%).
