Capitals vs. Lightning Pick

Caps vs. Lightning Moneyline Pick

  • Lightning -145 (4 units)

Ovechkin scored his 900th career goal earlier this week, but the Capitals are sputtering right now with five losses in their last six games. Thompson has been stellar between the pipes, but Washington’s offense has been nothing like what we’ve seen the last couple of seasons. Tampa Bay has gone in the opposite direction, winning six of their previous seven contests. The Lightning has momentum on their side heading into this contest and they are at home. With Washington struggling to dent the twine and the Capitals trending in the wrong direction, you have to fade them here. Take Tampa Bay in this contest.

Caps vs. Lightning Over/Under Pick

  • Under 6 (-114) (4 units)

Washington has seen the under post a 6-6-2 mark in their first 14 games on the year. The Capitals have an average total of 5.29 goals per game on the season, and that number drops to a minuscule 4.67 goals per game as the road squad. Tampa Bay has seen the under post an 8-6 mark in their 14 games this season in relation to the total entering Friday night. The Lightning have seen an average of 5.86 goals per game this season and that number slides down to 5.83 goals per game on home ice this season. We’ve seen the under hit in five of the last eight meetings, with one push, and with both teams struggling offensively, this game stays under the total.
