Flames vs Red Wings prediction

Winnipeg Jets (10-7-0) vs. Calgary Flames (5-12-2)

The Winnipeg Jets head to Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, AB, to face off against the Calgary Flames in the Western Conference showdown with the puck drop at 10:00 PM ET, and we’ve got you covered with our Jets vs. Flames prediction.

Winnipeg and Calgary wrap up their three-game regular-season series, and the Jets look to sweep the Flames. Last month, the Jets beat the Flames 2-1 in Calgary and 5-3 in Winnipeg.

Let’s take a closer look at this Jets vs. Flames prediction, one of our NHL picks for Saturday’s slate. The Jets open as -130 moneyline favorites with a total of 5.5 goals.

The Jets close down a rough road trip

The Winnipeg Jets will wrap up their six-game road trip on Saturday night. They’ve only won one of their previous five contests, and each of their last four losses has come in regulation.

After stopping a three-game slide with a 5-3 victory at the Vancouver Canucks, the Jets suffered a 5-3 loss at the Seattle Kraken this past Thursday. Winnipeg blew multiple one-goal leads in Seattle, and Connor Hellebuyck had an awful day in the crease, allowing four goals on just 17 shots.

Hellebuyck is now 7-6-0 with a 2.49 GAA and a .914 save percentage in 2025-26, while Eric Comrie is 3-1-0 with a 2.75 GAA and a .908 save percentage. The Jets allow 2.76 goals per game (tied for 7th) and score 3.24 goals in return (13th).

Center Mark Scheifele leads the charge for Winnipeg with 10 goals and 13 assists, while winger Kyle Connor has accounted for 10 goals and 10 assists. The Jets cannot count on defenseman Haydn Fleury (concussion) and winger Cole Koepke (undisclosed).

The Flames desperately need more from their offense

The Calgary Flames put an end to their three-game losing streak last Thursday. After consecutive defeats against the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0, the Minnesota Wild 2-0, and the St. Louis Blues 3-2, the Flames blanked the San Jose Sharks 2-0 in front of the home fans.

The Flames outshot the Sharks 36-17 on the night and fully deserved to win. Blake Coleman scored his seventh goal of the season, while Dustin Wolf posted his first shutout in 2025-26.

Wolf is now 5-10-1 with a 3.03 GAA and a .897 save percentage this season, while Devin Cooley carries a 0-2-1 record with a 1.75 GAA and a .935 save percentage. The Flames allow 3.00 goals per game (tied for 14th in the league) and score just 2.05 goals in return (32nd).

Nazem Kadri leads the way for Calgary with four goals and seven assists. He’s a lone Flame with points in double figures, which tells you a lot about Calgary’s offense. The Flames miss defenseman Zayne Parekh due to an upper-body injury.

Jets vs. Flames Pick

Spread Pick for Jets vs. Flames

  • Winnipeg Jets (5 units)

Connor Hellebuyck has allowed at least three goals in five of his last seven starts, so the Jets might turn to Eric Comrie on Saturday. Comrie guarded the cage in that 5-3 home victory over Calgary in October, allowing three goals on 33 shots. Hellebuyck was in the crease at Scotiabank Saddledome, yielding one goal on 33 shots.

Dustin Wolf took a loss twice against the Jets in October. Wolf is coming off his first shutout of the season, but the Sharks didn’t test him properly. Anyway, the Flames’ offense cannot be trusted, so I’m going with the Jets.

Calgary has the worst power-play percentage in the NHL (7-for-64). The Flames have struggled to defend with the man down, too, allowing 14 goals on 65 opportunities. On the other side, the Jets rank 11th in power-play percentage (13-for-57) and fifth in penalty killing (56-for-66).

Over/Under Pick for Jets vs. Flames

  • Under 5.5 (5 units)

The Flames need more from their offense, while the Jets need to tighten things up. Winnipeg has allowed 17 goals over its previous five outings, and I expect the Jets to bounce back even if Eric Comrie gets the starting call.

Calgary has only scored four goals over its last four games overall. Just one of the Flames’ previous six outings has seen more than five goals on the scoreboard, and I would ride this trend. The Flames hold a hideous 6.9 shooting percentage.
