Winnipeg is playing great across the board

The Jets are off to a great start with their offense leading the way, scoring 4.20 goals per game with 14 goals in the last three games. Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele have scored nine goals and eight assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has also been great. Nino Niederreiter, Morgan Barron, and Gabriel Vilardi have combined for five goals and nine assists while defensemen Dylan DeMelo and Logan Stanley have added two goals and four assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has also been great, allowing only 2.80 goals per game with only seven goals in the last four games. Josh Morrissey and Neal Pionk have combined for 1.1 defensive point shares to anchor the top pair while Dylan DeMelo and Logan Stanley have added depth to the unit, creating turnovers in all three zones and limiting shots on the net. In addition, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been great with a .915 save percentage and a 2.51 goals-against average on 117 shots.

Flames have looked awful on both ends of the ice

The Flames are having a rough season with their offense letting them down, scoring only 1.67 goals per game with only seven goals in the last five games. Nazem Kadri and Matthew Coronato have combined for two goals and four assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only two skaters have two goals or more, and opposing defenses can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has let the Flames down but the defense has also struggled, allowing 4.17 goals per game. Rasmus Andersson and Kevin Bahl have led the top two pairings but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Dustin Wolf has struggled with a .854 save percentage and a 4.30 goals-against average on 137 shots with -6.0 goals saved above average.

Jets vs Flames Pick

Money Line Pick For Jets vs Flames

  • Jets (-140) (4 units)

The Jets are having a great season and look to dominate this game from the first period. The Jets, who average 4.20 goals per game, should find the back of the net at will with Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele, and the rest of the forward unit establishing a strong offensive zone presence while creating open shots with quick passes. The Jets, who allow only 2.80 goals per game, should limit the Flames offense, which averages only 1.67 goals per game, with Josh Morrissey, Neal Pionk, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to make plenty of big saves. The Jets should win the game with a strong performance on the road.

Take the Jets money line as road Favorites.

Over/Under Pick For Jets vs Flames

  • Under 5.5 (5 Units)

The Flames have looked hapless on offense, and this game is sure to be a low-scoring one from the first period. The Flames should limit the Jets offense with Rasmus Andersson, Kevin Bahl, and the rest of the defensive unit creating turnovers in the defensive zone while limiting shots on the net, allowing goaltender Dustin Wolf to make plenty of big saves. The Jets, who have allowed only seven goals in their last four games, should eliminate and potentially shut out the Flames, who have scored only seven goals in their last five games, with Josh Morrissey, Neal Pionk, Dylan DeMelo, and the rest of the defensive unit forcing turnovers in the neutral zone and defensive zone while goaltender Connor Hellebuyck blanks the shots on the net. The Under should cover in a low-scoring game with both defenses stepping up.

Take the Under on 5.5 goals.
