Jets vs. Oilers Picks and Prediction for Saturday, December 6, 2025
Use Code WWWC Winnipeg Jets (13-12-1) vs. Edmonton Oilers (12-11-5)
The Winnipeg Jets head to Rogers Place in Edmonton, AB, on Saturday night to face off against the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference showdown with the puck drop at 10:00 PM ET, and we’ve prepared the Jets vs. Oilers prediction to get you covered.
Winnipeg meets Edmonton for the first time this season. In 2024-25, the Jets took two out of three games against the Oilers, with each team emerging victorious on the home ice.
Let’s look closer at this Jets vs. Oilers prediction, one of our NHL picks for Saturday’s card. Edmonton opens as a -210 home fave with a total of 6.5 goals.
The Jets are struggling without Connor Hellebuyck
Friday’s games have been excluded from this preview, and the Winnipeg Jets hosted the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night, looking to avoid their third straight defeat. In their previous two outings, the Jets have suffered road defeats at the Buffalo Sabres 5-1 and the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 in a shootout.

The Jets have only won one of their last seven games overall. Eric Comrie has amassed six starts during that stretch, while rookie Thomas Milic got the nod in a 5-1 defeat at the Carolina Hurricanes on November 28.
Milic also played 40 minutes in relief last Monday, allowing two goals on 17 shots in that 5-1 loss at Buffalo. Connor Hellebuyck (8-6-0; 2.51 GAA; .913 SV%) is on the IR with a knee injury, and the Jets will be without their starting goalie for a few more weeks.
Comrie was in the starter’s crease at Winnipeg’s Friday morning skate, which means we should see Milic between the pipes on Saturday night.
The Oilers’ erratic season continues
The Edmonton Oilers are having a disappointing campaign. The reigning Stanley Cup vice-champions have yet to win three straight games in 2025-26. They’ve won three of their previous five games overall and are 2-1-0 in the last three, sandwiching a 1-0 defeat to the Minnesota Wild with a pair of wins over the Seattle Kraken, 4-0 and 9-4.
It tells a lot about the Oilers’ season. After failing to score on 33 shots toward Minnesota’s net, Edmonton dismantled Seattle at Rogers Place this past Thursday. Connor McDavid had his 13th career hat trick, Leon Draisaitl mustered three assists and a goal, and Matt Savoie scored a couple of goals. The Oilers went 4-for-5 with the man advantage.
Calvin Pickard gave up four goals on 32 shots last Thursday. Stuart Skinner got a day off, and the 27-year-old netminder should return to the crease when the Jets come to town on Friday night. Skinner is 9-8-3 with a 2.90 GAA, .888 save percentage, and two shutouts this season.
The Oilers allow 3.50 goals per game (tied for 29th in the NHL) and score 3.21 goals in return (9th). Edmonton cannot count on center Jack Roslovic (G10, A8), while defenseman Jake Walman (G3, A7) is questionable for Saturday’s game against Winnipeg.
Jets vs. Oilers Pick
Spread Pick for Jets vs. Oilers
- Edmonton Oilers -1.5 (5 units)
The Jets have struggled a lot without Connor Hellebuyck. Their defense doesn’t breed confidence, and Winnipeg has allowed at least three goals in 10 of its previous 12 games overall. Hereof, I can only look at the Oilers, despite their erratic run of form.
Edmonton’s defense cannot be trusted either, though Stuart Skinner has only allowed one goal over his previous two starts. The Oilers’ offense is very dangerous, and Edmonton boasts the second-best power-play percentage in the NHL (23-for-71), so I’m backing them to win by at least two goals.
Over/Under Pick for Jets vs. Oilers
- Over 6.5 (5 units)
Of course, the line is sitting at 6.5 goals. The Jets will probably go with Thomas Milic, and I’m not sure that I can say Milic is NHL-ready. The Oilers have some of the best NFL forwards on their top-two lines, so I think the Jets’ defense will be in trouble.
Winnipeg is not a bad offensive team. The Jets score 3.00 goals per game (tied for 17th in the NHL) while posting the 12th-best power-play percentage (17-for-78). They will find a way to score against the Oilers and help the over backers.
