Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City Picks, Prediction, Odds, and Line Movement for Saturday November 7 2026
Manchester City head to the City Ground with something they did not have a month ago: a little pressure. Seven straight league wins were followed by losses to Aston Villa and Brighton, and suddenly Saturday's trip to Nottingham matters as a response game. Forest have problems of their own. They are still looking for a first home league win and, remarkably, have not scored in any of their first four home league matches. More weekend plays are available on our soccer picks and predictions page.

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City Preview
Forest are one of those teams whose table position and shot numbers tell two different stories. They have taken the second-most shots in the league, according to the club's own match preview, but have scored only six goals. Their conversion rate sits at the bottom of the Premier League. In other words, Forest are reaching shooting positions. They simply are not turning enough of those possessions into real damage.
The home numbers are even stranger. Four league matches at the City Ground, zero goals. Three 1-0 losses and a 0-0 draw. That does not mean Forest are incapable of scoring against City, but it does make the first goal especially important. Falling behind would force a team with finishing problems to open up against one of the league's best attacks.

Oliver Glasner has at least received one useful boost. Igor Jesus trained through the week after a calf injury and could return. Nicolรกs Domรญnguez is headed for a longer absence after aggravating a hamstring problem. Dan Ndoye was ill briefly and Daniel Muรฑoz had a foot issue, although both trained and were expected to be available.
City are without Antoine Semenyo. Nico O'Reilly has also been dealing with a back problem and Enzo Maresca said he is not 100 percent. Even so, the visitors still have enough attacking depth to make those absences manageable. Erling Haaland remains the obvious focal point, and City can surround him with several different combinations of creators.
Odds and Line Movement
The early Matchweek 10 number had City around -129. Pinnacle is now closer to -140. Other books are still offering numbers in the mid -130s, so shopping matters here. This is a genuine same-market move toward City, but it has not yet pushed the favorite beyond our -150 ceiling.
Forest backers are getting a bigger home price than they were at the freeze, which makes sense after another poor league result. The total is less useful for this article because the market is split between 2.5, 2.75 and 3. Rather than force a quarter-goal opinion, the moneyline gives a cleaner read.
How the Match Could Play
Forest cannot spend 90 minutes defending the edge of their box. They have to make City's buildup uncomfortable and create moments when the visitors are running toward their own goal. Igor Jesus would help with that because he can give Forest a more direct outlet and turn clearances into actual attacks.
City's answer should be patience. The recent league losses featured stretches where they became too loose in central areas. Maresca will want cleaner rest defense and fewer cheap turnovers. If City keep the ball without forcing passes, Forest will eventually have to choose between stepping out and leaving space or sitting deep and accepting pressure.
Elliot Anderson is important in that balance because of how comfortable he is receiving under pressure. City do not need him to play a spectacular final pass every time. They need him to keep possessions alive and prevent Forest from turning midfield duels into counters.
The Finishing Gap
This is where the matchup swings. Forest's shot volume says they are capable of creating problems, but City's average chance quality is higher and their finishing options are better. A 10-shot afternoon for each side does not necessarily mean an even game if City are getting central looks while Forest are settling for efforts from distance.
Forest can absolutely make this uncomfortable. The City Ground is a difficult place when the crowd has something to respond to, and a set-piece goal would change the script immediately. But until Forest prove they can convert their pressure at home, the safer side is the visitor.
Best Bet - Manchester City ML (-140)
Manchester City -140 is the pick. The line is shorter than it was earlier in the week, but it remains playable. City have the stronger attack, deeper bench and a clear incentive to stop a two-game league skid before the international break.
There is no need to chase a handicap. Forest's underlying numbers are better than their six goals suggest, and City have looked less secure over the last two league matches. The straight moneyline gives us enough room for a 1-0 or 2-1 grind if the bounce-back is not pretty.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest 0, Manchester City 2
