Morgan Charriere vs Felipe Lima Picks, Prediction, Odds, and Line Movement for Saturday September 5 2026

Morgan Charriere returns to Accor Arena on Saturday to face Felipe Lima in a three-round featherweight bout on the UFC Paris prelims. Charriere is the home underdog with a 21-12-1 record, while Lima enters at 14-2 after his long winning streak was snapped by Payton Talbott.

Both fighters made weight Friday, with Charriere at 145 pounds and Lima at 146. The market favors Lima, but the more interesting price is attached to whether a matchup between two aggressive, well-rounded fighters reaches the final horn.

Morgan Charriere vs Felipe Lima Preview

Charriere has 13 knockout wins and three submissions. His UFC career has been volatile: he has produced highlight-reel finishes, competitive decisions and a first-round knockout loss to Melquizael Costa in December 2025.

The Frenchman’s best UFC moments have come when he can pressure opponents into exchanges. He stopped Gabriel Miranda and Nate Landwehr, and UFC lists him with a 0.88 knockdown average per 15 minutes. The downside is that he absorbs 4.51 significant strikes per minute, so his offense often comes with defensive risk.

Lima is 14-2 with four knockout wins and three submissions. He debuted in the UFC by submitting Muhammad Naimov in the third round, then beat Miles Johns by decision before losing a decision to Payton Talbott. UFC lists him with 65 percent significant-strike defense and 86 percent takedown defense, both strong numbers through his current sample.

Striking Matchup

Charriere wants to make the fight physical. His kicking game and boxing become more dangerous when opponents allow him to step forward, and the Paris crowd tends to amplify his willingness to take risks.

Lima is more defensively responsible. He does not need to match Charriere exchange for exchange because he can use movement, counters and clinch entries to punish overextension. That difference is why Lima is favored despite Charriere owning the more obvious knockout résumé.

The fight becomes especially dangerous if Charriere loses patience. His December knockout loss to Costa came in only 74 seconds, confirming that his aggressive style can be punished early.

Wrestling and Grappling

Both men can grapple. Charriere has strong takedown defense and a legitimate submission background, while Lima’s UFC debut against Naimov ended with a rear-naked choke.

Lima’s advantage is that he can use grappling as a secondary route rather than needing it from the opening bell. If Charriere overcommits to striking, Lima can change levels or attack from a scramble. If Lima becomes too comfortable kickboxing, Charriere has the power to turn the fight around with one exchange.

That two-way danger is important for the total. There are credible finishing routes for either fighter before the third round begins.

Odds and Line Movement

The early Saturday snapshot had Charriere around +182 and Lima near -200. UFC’s current board lists Charriere approximately +155 and Lima -185, showing some movement toward the French underdog.

The total has moved even more. Under 2.5 rounds was available at +181 in the event-specific snapshot, while current comparison markets are now roughly +157 to +161. That is a meaningful move toward an earlier finish, but the Under still offers plus money on the fight ending before the final 2:30 of Round 3.

Morgan Charriere vs Felipe Lima Prediction

Lima is the more defensively reliable fighter and should be favored if the fight becomes a clean three-round technical contest. Charriere’s pressure makes that kind of fight difficult to guarantee.

The home fighter is likely to force enough exchanges that Lima gets opportunities to counter or change levels. Charriere’s finishing power means the danger works both ways.

Prediction: Felipe Lima wins by second-round submission

Best Bet - Under 2.5 Rounds +157

Charriere has 16 career finishes and has both stopped and been stopped quickly in recent UFC fights. Lima can punish reckless entries on the feet and owns a proven submission route if Charriere gives up position. The number has shortened from the early +181 range, but +157 still leaves meaningful plus money in a fight with multiple credible finishing paths.

Best Bet: Under 2.5 Rounds +157

Prediction: Felipe Lima wins by second-round submission
