Those factors have to be evaluated together.
A fighter having a high career finishing rate does not automatically make an Under attractive, just as a durable fighter does not automatically make an Over a good bet.
UFC Method of Victory Props
Method-of-victory markets allow bettors to back a fighter by decision, knockout/TKO or submission.
These props can offer better prices than a straight moneyline, but they also require more precision.
A fighter may be heavily favored to win while having several realistic paths to victory. In that situation, narrowing the wager to one method can create unnecessary risk.
Method props are more useful when the matchup strongly favors one particular route.
For example, a submission prop becomes more interesting when an accomplished grappler consistently creates back exposure against an opponent who has struggled to defend transitions.
A decision prop can make more sense when one fighter is likely to win rounds through volume, pressure or control but the opponent has repeatedly demonstrated strong durability.
The key is matching the prop to the actual fight analysis rather than simply looking for a larger payout.
UFC Over/Under Round Props
Round totals are another major UFC prop market.
Sportsbooks may offer lines such as:
- Over/Under 1.5 rounds
- Over/Under 2.5 rounds
- Over/Under 3.5 rounds

Totals should be evaluated independently from the fighter moneyline.

Distance bets can be attractive when both fighters are difficult to finish, manage risk well or rely heavily on positional control.
No-distance bets can make more sense when both fighters create consistent finishing opportunities or when one competitor has a major defensive weakness that directly overlaps with the opponent's best offensive skill.
Again, the matchup matters more than the label.
Why UFC Prop Prices Matter
A strong prop idea still needs an acceptable price.
If a fighter-by-decision wager moves from +120 to -150, the fight prediction may not have changed, but the betting proposition has.
The same applies to round totals.
An Over 2.5 at -110 and the same Over at -180 are materially different bets.

UFC Props vs Moneyline Betting
A prop is not automatically better than a moneyline simply because it offers a larger payout.
Sometimes the strongest betting case is simply that one fighter wins.
In other matchups, the straight moneyline becomes too expensive while a specific fight outcome remains attractive.
For example, a heavily favored fighter may be difficult to back at a short moneyline but still present a reasonable decision prop if the opponent is durable and the favorite consistently wins through control and volume.
The decision between a moneyline and a prop should come from the predicted fight script.
Using Props in UFC Parlays
Props can also be incorporated into UFC parlays, but every leg should first make sense as a standalone selection.
Do not add a method prop simply because it produces a larger combined payout.
The same logic applies to related outcomes inside one fight.
If a handicap projects a long matchup, a decision or Over prop may both fit the same fight script. If the prediction is based on an early finish, an Over would directly contradict that analysis.
