Dallas had won six straight before losing 87-86 in Phoenix on Monday. The defeat did not erase the strong form that preceded it, but it did expose some of the issues that can keep Wings games lower scoring.

Dallas shot 41.9 percent from the field and left points at the free-throw line, finishing 14-for-21.

Paige Bueckers remains the player most capable of stabilizing the offense. She leads Dallas in scoring and assists and gives the Wings a reliable creator when the first action fails.

Jessica Shepard controls the glass and can facilitate from the frontcourt, while Arike Ogunbowale adds another perimeter scorer capable of producing without a set play.

The Wings are still short-handed. Smith is out, Fudd is done for the season and Clark is dealing with an injury.

Those absences make Dallas less complete than the record suggests, but the matchup with Seattle remains favorable.

Seattle is 8-35 and only 6-15 at Climate Pledge Arena. The Storm have lost four straight and have been eliminated for weeks.

The offense has been the biggest issue.

Seattle is averaging roughly 82 points per game and has repeatedly struggled against physical defenses since losing Magbegor and Samuelson.

Dominique Malonga has become the primary interior option. She leads Seattle in scoring and rebounding, but the increased responsibility has also made it easier for opponents to load their defense toward her touches.

Natisha Hiedeman remains the lead organizer, while Flau'jae Johnson has provided individual scoring when available.

The current injury list makes the rotation even thinner. Cooke is out with a knee injury, while Magbegor and Samuelson remain unavailable for the season.

Dallas has dominated the current season series.

The Wings have won all three meetings and have beaten Seattle by an average margin of more than 15 points.

The most recent matchup ended 92-70 in Dallas, giving the Wings another comfortable win without requiring the game to become a shootout.

That result fits the broader totals profile.

Dallas is 17-25 O/U in the current season data, the strongest Under record in the league. Seattle is 19-24 O/U, another clear Under profile.

Together, the teams have gone Under in 49 of 85 graded games.

The WNBA betting trends therefore point much more strongly toward the total than the side.

The spread is Dallas -9.5 and has barely moved from the opener.

Seattle is actually 21-20 ATS, slightly better than Dallas at 20-21. That makes laying nearly double digits less attractive than simply assuming the Wings will control the game.

The total has moved higher.

The market opened around 170.5. Current books range from 171.5 to 173.5, creating a much better entry for Under bettors than the first number.

That upward move is especially useful because the underlying team profiles have not changed.

Dallas can still score into the upper 80s or low 90s, but Seattle does not need to contribute enough offense to push the game beyond 173.5.

The Storm's path to staying competitive also favors a slower game. Seattle should try to work through Malonga, avoid live-ball turnovers and force Dallas to score against a set defense.

A faster game creates more transition chances for Bueckers and Ogunbowale, which is the last environment Seattle should want.

Dallas can be comfortable with the slower pace because it has the better half-court creators.

Bueckers can attack switches, Shepard can create second-chance opportunities and Ogunbowale can produce late in the clock when a possession stalls.

The Wings do not need 100 points to cover their talent advantage.

The main Over risk is Seattle's defense. The Storm have allowed nearly 89 points per game and can give up quick runs when their guards lose the point of attack.

The higher 173.5 total gives the Under enough protection to absorb a strong Dallas offensive night.

Even a final such as 92-76 stays below the current number.

The regular-season finale context does not require Dallas to play at maximum pace. The Wings need the win, but once they establish control they can protect possessions and use their half-court advantage rather than chasing transition scoring. Seattle has even less incentive to turn the game into a track meet with such a short rotation.

Game Thesis: Dallas should be the stronger team, but the season-long total profiles are much more convincing than the spread records. Dallas is 17-25 O/U, Seattle is 19-24 O/U and the current 173.5 sits three points above the opener. Under 173.5 is the preferred wager.

Dallas Wings vs Seattle Storm Best Bet - Total: Under 173.5

The number is the biggest advantage.

A market that opened near 170.5 is now offering as much as 173.5, giving Under bettors three additional points without a meaningful change in the matchup.

Dallas owns the league's strongest Under profile, while Seattle has also stayed below the total more often than not.

The Wings can still win comfortably without creating a high-scoring game. Their most recent meeting with Seattle finished 92-70, comfortably below 173.5.

Seattle's short-handed rotation and weak half-court offense make it difficult to project the Storm into the low 80s unless Dallas has an unusually poor defensive night.

Under 173.5 is the strongest position.

Prediction: Dallas Wings 91, Seattle Storm 77
