Today’s Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm picks for Thursday, September 17, 2026, come from Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. Las Vegas resumes its playoff-seeding push after the World Cup break, while Seattle returns with the league’s worst record and two more important rotation players lost for the season.

Las Vegas is favored by 10.5 points, with the total set at 175. Bettors reviewing Thursday’s WNBA picks should account for the two-point spread move toward the Aces and the unusually high 175 total available compared with the broader market. Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm Preview

Las Vegas enters at 27-13 and remains in position to climb as high as the No. 2 seed. The Aces have won six of their last 10 and still have meaningful incentives throughout the final week.

A’ja Wilson remains the foundation. Her interior scoring, rebounding and rim protection force opponents to make difficult choices every possession.

Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray return from helping the United States win the World Cup, giving Las Vegas two elite perimeter creators alongside Wilson.

The Aces are 19-19 ATS in the updated season numbers. That neutral spread record matters because bettors are now being asked to lay double digits on the road.

Las Vegas is also only 9-11 ATS away from home. The Aces are obviously the better team, but they have not consistently rewarded bettors when carrying large road prices.

Seattle enters at 8-32 and has lost eight of its last 10. The Storm are eliminated and playing out the final four games of a difficult season.

Flau’jae Johnson has become one of Seattle’s most important scorers and gives the Storm enough perimeter talent to prevent every possession from becoming a grind.

Dominique Malonga is even more important now. Seattle lost Magbegor to a torn ACL at the World Cup, leaving Malonga with a larger share of the interior workload.

Samuelson is also out after undergoing a knee procedure. Those absences weaken Seattle’s depth at both ends.

Despite the poor straight-up record, the Storm have been an excellent spread team. Seattle is 21-17 ATS overall and 12-7 ATS at home.

That is the strongest argument for the underdog. Seattle has repeatedly stayed competitive enough to cover even while losing most of its games.

Las Vegas won the first meeting 101-91 on June 8. Wilson scored 34 points, Young added 29 and the Aces created separation through their star power.

The 10-point final margin is directly relevant to Thursday’s spread. Seattle +10.5 would have covered the first matchup by half a point.

The teams meet again in Las Vegas on September 20, making Thursday the first half of a two-game mini-series.

The spread opened around Las Vegas -8.5 and has moved to -10.5. That is a substantial adjustment toward the favorite.

The move is understandable after Seattle lost Magbegor and Samuelson, but it also transfers two full points toward the underdog.

The total is even more interesting. The broader market is dealing mostly 173.5 to 174.5, while the current board offers 175.

Seattle is 18-22 to the Over, one of the league’s stronger Under profiles. Las Vegas is 19-20 O/U, making the combined season trends lean lower.

The first meeting reached 192 points, but Seattle had a different frontcourt and Las Vegas received huge scoring nights from Wilson and Young.

Thursday’s Seattle team is less equipped to contribute enough offense to force another game into the 190s.

Matchup Breakdown

Las Vegas should attack through Wilson and force Seattle to defend the paint with a thinner frontcourt. The Storm will have to send help, which creates opportunities for Gray and Young.

Seattle needs Johnson to generate perimeter offense and Malonga to keep the rebounding battle competitive. The Storm cannot afford to allow Las Vegas repeated second-chance possessions.

The WNBA betting trends favor Seattle against the number. The Storm are 21-17 ATS and 12-7 ATS at home, while Las Vegas is only 19-19 overall.

The line movement is the central factor. Las Vegas opened -8.5 and has been pushed to -10.5, giving Seattle an additional two points.

The total provides another useful edge. A 175 number is higher than the broader market and gives Under bettors a better entry.

Seattle's best chance to stay inside the number is to avoid a track meet and make Las Vegas score repeatedly in the half court. That approach also supports the Under, since a slower possession profile helps both Storm +10.5 and Under 175 without requiring Seattle to match the Aces shot for shot.

Game Thesis: Las Vegas should win behind its star trio, but the spread has been inflated from -8.5 to -10.5 against a Seattle team that is 12-7 ATS at home. Seattle +10.5 is the preferred side, while Under 175 is the strongest total because the number sits above the broader market and Seattle’s offense is depleted.

Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm Best Bet - Spread: Seattle Storm +10.5

Seattle’s record is ugly, but its ATS profile is not. The Storm have covered 21 of 38 games and are 12-7 ATS at Climate Pledge Arena.

The first meeting was also decided by exactly 10 points. Thursday’s +10.5 would have covered that result.

Las Vegas deserves to be favored, but the two-point move from -8.5 to -10.5 has shifted the value toward the home underdog.

Seattle +10.5 is playable, with +11 even more attractive if available.

Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm Total Pick: Under 175

Seattle is 18-22 to the Over and enters without Magbegor and Samuelson.

Most of the broader market is lower than 175, making this a particularly useful Under price. A projected final in the low 170s leaves enough margin.

Prediction: Las Vegas Aces 90, Seattle Storm 82
