New York Takes Fifth Seed
The New York Liberty were second in the WNBA standings for the majority of the year, but have since fallen to fifth as they conclude their season. The Liberty are the reigning WNBA Champions, and still have a strong lineup capable of making another postseason run. They won their previous two games coming into this one, as they won in Seattle against the Storm, then hosted the young Mystics and came away with a win. In their most recent game, Emma Meesseman led the way with 19 points in the win over Washington.
The top three players on the Liberty will all be available for their playoff push, led by their leading scorer, Sabrina Ionescu, who leads the team with 18.4 PPG, 5.5 RPG and 4.9 APG. Ionescu is a lights-out shooter who will put pressure on the defense from the outside. Breanna Stewart has been one of the best players in the league for the past several seasons, and is getting 18.1 PPG and 6.6 RPG this season. Jonquel Jones is their presence in the middle. She is averaging 13.9 PPG and 8.3 RPG on the inside.
Sky Close Out the Season
The Chicago Sky will be playing their last game of the season after a tumultuous season, which will see them watching the postseason from home. They are coming off three consecutive losses, with all three coming on the road, starting with the Fever, then consecutive losses against the Aces in Las Vegas. Angel Reese did not play in their last game with a back injury and is not expected to play here.
With Reese out of the game, Kamilla Cardoso will be their top presence on the interior for the Sky. She is a 6'7 forward who is in her second season in the league out of South Carolina. Cardoso is averaging 13.4 PPG and 8.6 RPG on the interior. Ariel Atkins is their top perimeter scorer, but she is listed as out for this game with a back injury. Rachel Branham is slated to play, she is getting 8.9 PPG with an inside-out game.

Reese is out, Atkins is out, and Cardoso is a post player who is not capable of carrying an offense. New York will be in the 4-5 matchup, but Chicago is done for the year. The Sky lost each of their last four games by 14 or more, and will continue that trend here.
