The 2025 WNBA Playoffs start Sunday, September 14, and in this preview, we’ve got the Storm vs. Aces prediction along with the latest odds update, as Seattle and Las Vegas open their best-of-three series. The Aces host the Storm at Michelob ULTRA Arena for Game 1, and the tip-off is set at 10:00 PM ET.
Seattle and Las Vegas split their four-game regular-season series. The last time they met, the Aces outlasted the Storm 90-86 as 1-point home favorites on August 8, and the game went over the 164-point line.
The Aces are 6-point favorites this time around, while the total sits at 160.5 points. Now, let’s take a closer look at this Seattle vs. Las Vegas prediction, one of our WNBA picks for Sunday’s card.
The Storm sneaked into the postseason
The Seattle Storm have gone 3-3 SU and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. They outlasted the Golden State Valkyries 74-73 at home in their regular-season finale to snap a two-game skid and clinch the No. 7 seed.

The Storm overcame a 10-point second-half deficit against the Valkyries. Seattle shot 40.6% from the field (7-for-17 from deep), and Erica Wheeler led the way with 17 points off the bench. Nneka Ogwumike accounted for 16 points and eight rebounds, and Brittney Sykes added 14 points.
Ogwumike is arguably the best player on this Seattle team. She tallied 18.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in the regular season, while Skylar Diggins averaged 15.5 points and 6.0 assists. Seattle was scoring 82.1 points per game (8th in the WNBA) while yielding 80.1 points in return (tied for 4th).

The Aces are red-hot
The No. 2 Las Vegas Aces finished the regular season with a 103-75 thrashing of the Los Angeles Sparks this past Thursday. The Aces covered a 10.5-point spread with ease, extending their winning streak to 16 games.
Las Vegas hit 22 3-pointers against Los Angeles to set the WNBA record. The Sparks outscored the Aces 52-24 in the paint but went just 4-for-26 from downtown. The Aces handed out a whopping 35 assists while shooting 48.7% from the field (22-for-45 from deep).
A’ja Wilson posted a monster 23-point, 19-rebound double-double last Thursday. She enjoyed another great season, notching 23.4 points and 10.2 boards per game, while Jackie Young was tallying 16.5 points and 5.1 assists a night. The Aces ranked sixth in points scored (83.6 per game) and seventh in points allowed (80.7).

Storm vs. Aces Pick
Spread Pick for Storm vs. Aces
- Aces -6.0 (5 units)
The Aces are 6-2 ATS in their previous eight games overall, and during their 16-game winning streak, the Aces have gone 12-4 against the number. Hereof, there’s no way I’m going to step in front of the Aces.
Seattle is a solid defensive team, but I don’t think the Storm will be able to slow the Aces down. Las Vegas outrebounded Seattle 38-29 in their previous encounter, and the Aces went 10-for-22 from beyond the arc. A’ja Wilson tortured the Storm for 29 points and 12 rebounds.
I expect another strong performance from Wilson. She’s hit a 30-point mark in seven of her last 11 games. Seattle is one of the worst rebounding teams in the WNBA, and Wilson will dominate the Storm in the paint.
Over/Under Pick for Storm vs. Aces
- Over 160.5 (5 units)
The Storm play at the fourth-fastest pace in the WNBA (78.2 possessions per 40 minutes), while the Aces rank seventh in this category (77.3). Las Vegas leans on A’ja Wilson a lot, but the Aces also take a lot of shots from deep (5th in 3-point rate). They are third in the league in 3-point percentage (35.1%), while the Storm are fifth in this category (34.2%).
Hereof, give me the over on the total. Three of the previous four encounters between Seattle and Las Vegas have seen way more than 160.5 points on the scoreboard.
