The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the Colorado Rockies for the first game of their three-game series on Tuesday. The Dodgers have won three of the first four head-to-head games this season, as the favorite each time.

These division rivals faced each other 10 times in 2020, with the Dodgers taking seven of those games.

Rockies last in NL West

The Colorado Rockies finished fourth in the NL West last season with a 26-34 record. In the offseason, Colorado traded their star third baseman Nolan Arenado away to St. Louis. The Rockies entered this season with 100/1 odds to win the World Series, which put them in a six-way tie as the third least likely team to win the Fall Classic. Colorado is tied with Arizona for last in the NL West with +5000 odds to win the division.

The Rockies have struggled out on the gate in 2021, currently last in the division with a 3-7 record. Leading the team is Ryan McMahon off to a hot start batting .324 with five homers and nine RBI.

Antonio Senzatela will start for Colorado on Tuesday, He is 1-1 on the season with a 5.56 ERA. Senzatela allowed seven earned runs in 3 1/3 innings on April 2, in an 11-6 loss to the Dodgers. Last season he made three starts against the Dodgers and went 1-1 with a 4.76 ERA.

Dodgers keep rolling

The Dodgers entered this season as the Vegas betting favorite at +300 ahead of the New York Yankees who are second at +550. Los Angeles is the favorite in the NL West at -260 to win the division.

After dropping the season opener to the Rockies 8-5 as a -216 favorite, the Dodgers bounced back to win eight of their last nine games. Justin Turner leads the team with a .378 batting average and is second with nine RBI. Zach McKinstry is batting .321 and leads the team with 10 RBI.

On Tuesday the Dodgers will send Trevor Bauer to the mound. Bauer made 11 starts last season with the Reds and went 5-4 with a 1.73 ERA and 0.79 WHIP last season. Bauer has made two starts this season and is 1-0 with a 4.15 ERA. The first start of the season for Bauer was on April 2, when he allowed four earned runs in 6 ⅓ innings of the Dodgers 11-6 win over the Rockies.

Best Bets for this Game

Insiders Status:

Six of the last eight wins for the Dodgers have been by at least two runs. The Rockies have lost their last three games, and four of their last five losses have come by at least two runs. The Dodgers have won 10 of the last 14 head-to-head games in this series and are the superior team, but the money line price is extremely high, making the pick the Dodgers on the run line.

Prediction: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (-155)

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

The last five games for the Rockies have gone under and four of the last five Dodger games have gone under as well. Both Bauer and Senzatela are very good pitchers who well before better than they performed the first time these teams met in Coors Field. I will take the under.

Prediction: Under 8
