Rockies were held scoreless last series

Colorado (3-12 SU, 4-11 RL, and 5-9-1 O/U) was swept by San Diego last series, as the Padres held the Rockies scoreless in the three-game set. They're still searching for their first series win of the 2025 MLB season.

Colorado will turn to right-hander Ryan Feltner tomorrow against Los Angeles. In his last start, the 28-year-old surrendered one run on three hits with six strikeouts versus Milwaukee. He was 3-10 with a 4.49 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 30 starts (162.1 IP) last season.

The Rockies are hopeful to be competitive this season, but the sledding will be tough in the National League West. As of Monday afternoon, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco were a combined 25-5. Arizona also figures to be a playoff contender, leaving Colorado as the odd man out.

Colorado Rockies Baseball Injury Report: No injuries for Tuesday's game versus the Dodgers.

Los Angeles has been stumbling as of late

Los Angeles (11-6 SU, 8-9 RL, and 10-7 O/U) lost two of three games to Chicago (NL) last series. The Dodgers have lost six of their previous nine games.

LA will start righty Landon Knack tomorrow against Colorado. In his last outing, the 27-year-old gave up five runs on four hits and four walks in 2.1 innings versus Washington. He went 3-5 with a 3.65 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 15 appearances (69.0 IP) as a rookie last season.

The Dodgers are fresh off a World Series title, but after several notable offseason acquisitions, the franchise is primed for a run at more championships. Los Angeles has the biggest payroll in baseball ($330 million), as the front office was more active than ever in free agency. The Dodgers added two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell, Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki, relievers Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates, and OF Michael Conforto. LA has several talented arms vying for a spot in its starting rotation and a star-studded lineup capable of winning games on its own. In other words, it's going to be tough to knock the Dodgers off their throne.

Los Angeles Dodgers Baseball Injury Report: No new injuries to report for tomorrow's game against the Rockies.

Prediction: Dodgers Run Line

Full-Game Total Pick

Rockies vs. Dodgers expert pick: The total will be over eight runs in Tuesday's NL West battle in Los Angeles.

Knack lasted only 2.1 frames in his previous appearance and isn't likely to pitch past the fifth inning. He's not the type of pitcher who eats up innings. That will put some pressure on an LA pen that has been mediocre this year, posting a 4.01 ERA with 8 HR allowed. After scoring zero runs in San Diego, the Rockies' bats are due for positive regression, too.

Given Feltner's poor history against the Dodgers and Colorado's bottom-five relief group, the home team will have ample opportunities to score on Tuesday. The Dodgers' offense has been quieter than usual recently, and it wouldn't surprise me if they score eight or nine runs, given the matchup.

Prediction: Over 8.5
