Athletics are taking steps in the right direction
The Athletics (6-10 SU, 9-7 RL, and 8-6-2 O/U) lost two of three games to New York (NL) in their previous series. The ballclub is playing its first season in Sacramento in 2025, ahead of a scheduled move to Las Vegas in 2028.
The A's have named righty Osvaldo Bibo their probable starter for Wednesday's game against Chicago. In his last appearance, the 29-year-old allowed two runs on nine hits in five innings versus San Diego. The third-year MLB pro is 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in three starts (15.0 IP) this year.
The A's made noticeable improvements last season, ranking 8th in home runs (196) and tied for the 11th in walks (493), all while turning 128 double-plays (5th) and producing 12 shutouts (9th). While it only resulted in 69 victories, these strides helped the ballclub grow. Sacramento's temporary team also made several notable offseason additions, including starters Luis Severino, Jeffrey Springs, and José Leclerc and infielders Gio Urshela and Luis Urías. Between the improvements and the impending move to Vegas, Athletics fans have renewed hope.
Athletics Baseball Injury Report: No new injuries to report for tomorrow's game against the White Sox.
Chicago is already in last in the AL Central
Chicago (4-11 SU, 9-6 RL, and 6-7-2 O/U) won two of three games against Boston last series. It was the Southsiders' first series win of the 2025 season.
The White Sox will hand the game ball to right-hander Jonathan Cannon on Wednesday against the A's. In his last outing, the 24-year-old surrendered six runs on seven hits and three walks in 5.1 innings versus Cleveland. This season, he is 0-2 with a 5.79 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in three starts (14.0 IP).
There isn't much hope for the Southsiders this MLB season. There's no way to go but up after a record-breaking 121 losses, but that's more metaphorical than anything else. The White Sox were devoid of offensive juice last season, but at least they gave the fans some hope on Thursday. A new manager takes over in Will Venable, but there wasn't much else change, as Chicago didn't spend more than $1.95 million on any player in free agency. The starting rotation is fresh, and the bullpen has a new look after the Southsiders blew 36 of 51 save opportunities.
Chicago White Sox Baseball Injury Report: No injuries to report for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

I lean towards the under in Wednesday's Athletics vs. White Sox game.
Sacramento's team ERA is 3.63 on the road compared to 5.89 at home, at Sutter Park hitter's ballpark. Bido hasn't been an innings eater, but he has kept the ball in the park and the runs to a minimum. Against a weak Chicago lineup, that's as good as gold.
The Southsiders have also been more in control on the mound at Rate Field, where they sport a 2.56 ERA (compared to 5.21 on the road). The A's aren't crushing right-handed pitchers this season (.231/.307/.369/.676), and Cannon limited them to one run in six innings last year. The Chicago pen has also been solid (6th in ERA) in 2025.
