The Colorado Rockies (17-16) will host the Kansas City Royals (11-20) in the deciding contest of their three-game series on Sunday. The Rockies beat the Royals 14-10 on Friday, and the Rockies won 10-4 on Saturday.

Royals going for series win

The Royals have lost five of their last seven games. They are 27th in MLB averaging 3.6 runs per game, and 29th averaging .55 home runs per game. Andrew Benintendi leads the team with a .316 batting average and 15 RBI. Salvador is second with 14 RBI and hit his team-leading sixth home run in Saturday's loss.

The Royals are 26th with a 4.67 ERA. Daniel Lynch (2-2, 4.01 ERA, 1.30 WHIP) is scheduled to start on Sunday. Last Sunday, Lynch allowed three runs in 3 2/3 innings in a 4-2 loss to the Orioles. In three road starts, Lynch is 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA this season.

Rockies snap losing steak

Despite being one game above .500, the Rockies are last in the NL West but only 3.5 games out of first place. The team is 28th with a 4.84 ERA. Austin Gomber (2-3, 4.36 ERA, 1.24 WHIP) will start on Sunday. In four home starts, Gomber is 1-2 with a 4.09 ERA.

The Rockies are first in MLB with a .260 batting average, eighth averaging 4.6 runs per game, and 11th hitting just more than one home run a contest. C.J. Cron leads the team with nine home runs and 24 RBI.

The Rockies snapped their five-game losing streak on Saturday with a dominating victory scoring seven runs in the first three innings. Charlie Blackmon, Ryan McMahon, and Sam Hilliard all homered in the win. Hilliard led the way with four RBI.

Best Bets for this Game

Insiders Status:

Rating:

The Rockies have had a significant home-field advantage at Coors Field for a long time, where they have won 90 of their last 129 games as a favorite. The Rockies have also won 18 of their last 26 games against left-handed starters. The Royals have dropped five of their last six games against left-handed starting pitchers, and are just 4-13 in their last 17 games as a road underdog according to covers.com. I like the Rockies to take this series.

Prediction: Colorado Rockies -140

Full-Game Total Pick

Rating:

The Rockies are the top offensive home team in MLB averaging 6.0 runs per game at Coors Field. The Royals offense has been better on the road where they are 11th averaging 4.5 runs per game. Overall both of these teams rank in the bottom-five of MLB in runs allowed, and opponents batting average. I will take the over.
