The Detroit Tigers host their AL Central division rivals, the Chicago White Sunday afternoon in the final game of a three game series. The two teams split the first two games of the series. First pitch is at 12:10 PM ET at Comerica Park in Detroit.
White Sox win in 11The White Sox evened the series at 1 game apiece on Saturday, scoring a 4-3 win in 11 innings. The win improved their record to 75-71, which kept them 4.5 games behind the first place Guardians. The Sox are running out of time if they want to make the playoffs. Yoan Moncado drilled an RBI single in the 11th to give Chicago and Eloy Jimenez drove in another with a sac fly. Moncado had 2 hits on the night.
The White Sox have not yet named a starter for Sunday's game. They blew through 6 pitchers in Saturday's 11 inning win over the Tigers so they don't have a ton of fresh arms. With two starters on the shelf with injuries, Michael Kopech and Johnny Cueto, the White Sox are very limited and will have to dig deep to find a starter or use the tired bullpen.
Tigers rally falls shortThe Detroit Tigers won the first game of the series Friday night but then lost to the White Sox in 11 innings on Saturday night. The Tigers fought valiantly, tying at 2 in the bottom of the 8th on an RBI single by Riley Greene. After the White Sox scored twice in the 11th to take a 4-2 lead, Javy Baez drove in a run with a single in the bottom of the 11th to make it 4-3, but the rally fell short.

The Tigers only had 5 hits on the night. Eduardo Rodriguez pitched well in the loss, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits in 6.1 innings. He got a no decision. Gregory Soto got the loss. The Tigers fell to 55-89. They are last in the AL Central, 23 games out of first place. Drew Hutchison gets the start for Detroit on Sunday. Hutchison is 2-8 on the season with a 4.24 ERA.

This is an early Sunday game, with first pitch around noon. This comes after the two teams played for nearly 4 hours on Saturday night with the White Sox coming away with a 4-3 win. I think the teams will be tired here and the Tigers, with nothing to play for, probably won't be firing on all cylinders. And they have the worst offense in baseball, so there aren't a lot of cylinders to fire in the first place. Chicago will just want to get out of here with a win, however they can. The under is 10-3-3 in the White Sox last 16 games during game 3 of a series and 5-2 in their last 7 games versus an American League Central opponent. Take the under here.
