Can Cleveland take down the White Sox at home on Saturday afternoon?
Lynn looking for finish season strong vs. TribeRight-hander Lance Lynn is scheduled to toe the rubber for Chicago in the second game of its weekend series in Cleveland. The 34-year-old is 10-5 with a 2.47 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 26 starts. In his previous trip to the mound, the veteran allowed two runs (one earned) in 5 ⅓ frames in a loss versus the Texas Rangers. Despite allowing one earned run or fewer in four of his previous five appearances, Lynn hasn’t won a decision since way back on July 17.
Lynn’s Cy Young-caliber campaign has had a few bumps in the road down the stretch, including a seven-run thrashing in a loss versus the Chicago Cubs. However, for the most part, the White Sox right-hander has been lights out on the mound this season. Lynn has struck out 10.23 batters per nine innings of work and walked only 2.71 batters per nine so far this year while limiting opposing batters to a .203 batting average, his lowest career mark as an MLB starter.

In seven starts against the Indians, Lynn is 4-2 with a 2.36 ERA. He’s seen the Tribe three times this season, going 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA. According to Baseball Savant, current Indians batters are hitting only .177 in 87 plate appearances off of the White Sox ace heading into Saturday’s start.
Morgan looking to build off quality start vs. YankeesCleveland will counter with right-handed rookie Eli Morgan, who will be making his 17th start of the season. The 25-year-old is 3-7 with a 5.68 ERA and is fresh off of a quality outing on the road against the New York Yankees. Morgan spun six innings of one-run ball with three strikeouts to escape with the win.

Despite his overall record, Morgan has flashed his potential this season by posting some solid peripherals on the mound at the big league level. He’s struck out 8.46 batters and walked just 2.43 batters per nine innings of work this season. However, he’s had trouble with the long ball, giving up 2.09 home runs per nine innings of work.
This will be Morgan’s first career appearance against the White Sox. The Indians’ rookie has also struggled at home in Progressive Field, going 1-6 with an unsightly 8.31 ERA in nine home starts.

Full-Game Side Bet
Chicago has already clinched its first division title since 2008 but the White Sox have struggled to finish the season strong. The White Sox have also been trending in the wrong direction at the plate as of late, scoring four runs or fewer in four of their last six contests while going 2-4 during that span. Morgan has never faced Chicago but comes in pitching some of the best baseball of his young career. He’s also due for a little bit of regression at home, where he’s struggled mightily this season. Take the Tribe at this price on Saturday.
Full-Game Total Pick
Morgan has been victimized by the home run ball and a little bit of bad luck in his rookie season. The Indians right-hander has battled through an up-and-down season and should enter this matchup with a little bit of confidence. He has pitched into the sixth inning or later and allowing one run or fewer in two of his last three starts, including a scoreless appearance last time out against the New York Yankees. Meanwhile, Lynn has been since returning to the rotation for the White Sox, so runs could be hard to come by for both teams here. Take the under in this matchup on Saturday afternoon.
