Our Deep-3 picks are 8-1 this week and we’ve got the latest version right here:

A pair of Eastern Conference teams take the floor in the Big Apple looking to pick up a victory. The Indiana Pacers are on the road as they make the trip to face the New York Knicks Friday night. Indiana was pasted 135-108 on the road by Boston Wednesday night in the second game of a back to back. New York was drubbed 122-95 on the road by Golden State Tuesday night in their last contest. The Knicks lead the all-time regular season series 91-85 but the Pacers have won four straight meetings, including a 110-99 home win in the last matchup on December 16, 2018.

Indiana Pacers Try to Rebound From Blowout Loss

Indiana dropped to 2-2 on their road swing that comes to a close here as they were pasted in the second game of a back to back by the Celtics. The Pacers entered Thursday third in the Eastern Conference, three games behind the Raptors in the Eastern Conference and 2.5 games behind the Bucks in the Central Division. Indiana was down six after the opening quarter and 15 at the half. The Pacers couldn’t get any closer than 12 the rest of the way as Boston kept pouring it on. Indiana shot 42.9 percent from the field, including nine of 28 from three-point range, and missed 12 of 33 free throw attempts in the loss. Domantas Sabonis led the Pacers with 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the loss. Indiana is 10-11-1 ATS on the road this season while the over is 14-8 in those games.

The Pacers are 21st in the league in scoring with 108.1 points a night. Indiana is 23rd in the league in rebounding by collecting 43.4 boards per game. The Pacers are 7th in assists with 25.7 per game but have been solid defensively this season. Indiana is 2nd in the league in scoring defense, allowing 103.1 points per game. Victor Oladipo leads the Pacers with 19.9 points plus 5.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals per contest. Myles Turner averages 12.9 points plus 7.1 rebounds and 2.78 blocks per game. Darren Collison, Thaddeus Young (12.5 points, 5.9 rebounds), Domantas Sabonis (15 points, 9.6 rebounds) and Bojan Bogdanovic (16.2 points) are contributing offensively. The Pacers also rely on Tyreke Evans (10.3 points), Doug McDermott, Cory Joseph and Kyle O’Quinn in their rotation in order to have success. Indiana is 3rd in the league by shooting 48.1 percent from the field. The Pacers are tied for 28th with 9.2 threes per game. Indiana stands 5th in the league as they’re knocking down 36.9 percent from beyond the arc. Oladipo returned against the Bucks on December 12 after missing 11 games with a knee injury.

New York Knicks Seek to Regroup in Return Home

New York dropped their second straight and finished a six-game road trip 1-5 after getting dusted by the Warriors. The Knicks have lost 10 of their last 11: they are 13th in the Eastern Conference, 9.5 games behind the Hornets for the final playoff spot. New York trailed by six after the opening quarter and by 12 at the half before getting blown out 33-19 in the third quarter to put the game well out of reach. The Knicks shot 39.8 percent from the field, including six of 24 from three point range, and lost the rebounding battle 49-39. Mario Hezonja led the team with 19 points off the bench in the loss. New York is 6-9-1 ATS at home this season while the over is 8-8 in those games.

The Knicks are 23rd in the league in scoring as they average 107.4 points per game. New York is 16th in the league in rebounding with 45.1 boards per contest while standing 30th with 19.7 assists per game. The Knicks are 27th in scoring defense as they allow 115.8 points per game. Tim Hardaway Jr. leads the team with 20 points per contest. Enes Kanter is solid in the low block with 14.4 points plus 11 boards a night, Damyean Dotson chips in 9.5 points plus 3.6 rebounds a contest and Trey Burke adds 11.1 points with 2.8 assists per game. Mario Hezonja, Emmanuel Mudiay (14.1 points), Allonzo Trier (10.1 points), Frank Ntilkina, Noah Vonleh, Kevin Knox (12.1 points) and Lance Thomas have to step up offensively. The Knicks are 30th in field goal percentage as they shoot 43 percent as a team. New York is tied for 21st with 10.1 threes per game while ranking tied for 22nd in three point shooting as they hit 34.4 percent of their attempts from beyond the arc.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.

Full-Game Side Bet
Rating:

The Knicks are in a tailspin with 10 losses in their last 11 games coming into this contest. New York is 4-12 at home this season, which is just another reason why the team has struggled so mightily this season. Indiana is playing their third game in four nights but they had Thursday night off to rest and recover from the loss in Boston. The Pacers are a better team with a deeper rotation. Look for Indiana to take care of business here as they get the victory.

Prediction: Indiana Pacers -8.5

Full-Game Total Pick
Rating:

Indiana is playing tough defense, even with their recent struggles, and get the opportunity to face a Knicks team that has all kinds of offensive issues. There are rumors circulating that New York has engaged Sacramento in talks where Kanter could go to the Kings. Zach Randolph, who has played as many minutes in the league this season as you, has been mentioned as a piece coming back to the Big Apple in a move that is somewhat mystifying. As for Indiana, they’re just going to keep chasing the Bucks in the Central Division. Can the Pacers take advantage of a soft Knicks team before they head home?

The over is 7-0 in the Pacers’ last 7 overall, 6-0 in their last 6 road games, 4-0 in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 7-0 in their last seven against Eastern Conference opponents. New York has seen the over go 7-1 in their last eight on two days of rest, 5-1 in their last six at home against teams with a winning home record and  9-3 in their last 12 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points. With the Knicks reeling on both ends of the floor of late, this one ends up over the number behind an offensive explosion by the Pacers.

Prediction: Over 220

Half-Time Side Pick
Rating:

While Indiana had the boots put to them by Boston on Wednesday night, that shouldn’t be the case here. The Pacers are playing their third game in four nights but the fact that the Knicks have been abysmal lately more than washes that factor out. New York has struggled mightily when it comes to slowing the opposition from lighting up the scoreboard and doing damage. The Knicks don’t have the pieces to hang in here: give the points as the Pacers are up at the half.

Prediction: Indiana Pacers -4.5

Half-Time Total Bet
Rating:

Indiana was torched in the first half by the Celtics, a trend that continued in the second half en route to a blowout loss. The Pacers face a New York team that seemingly has mailed it in for the season at this point. The Knicks have to find some sort of spark to jolt them into being something resembling a competitive team. New York has been whipped from pillar to post and giving up a ton of points lately. The Knicks’ inability to play cohesive defense pushes this over the number at the half.

Prediction: Over 112
