Our Deep-3 picks are 8-1 this week and we’ve got the latest version right here:

A pair of Eastern Conference teams at opposite ends of the spectrum take the floor in the nation’s capital. The Milwaukee Bucks are on the road as they face the Washington Wizards Friday night. Milwaukee defeated Houston 116-109 at home in their last contest on Wednesday night. Washington earned a split of their home and home set with the 76ers, taking a 123-106 home win on Wednesday night in their last game. The Bucks own a 117-92 edge in the all-time regular-season series between the teams. Last season, the teams split four meetings, with the Wizards taking a 107-104 on the road in the last matchup on February 27, 2018.

Milwaukee Bucks Look to Continue Holding Central Division Lead

Milwaukee picked up their seventh win in their last eight games as they took down Houston on the road in a matchup of division leaders. The Bucks entered Thursday half a game behind the Raptors for the top spot in the Eastern Conference and 2.5 games ahead of the Pacers in the Central Division. Milwaukee trailed by six at the half but took control with a 38-23 edge in the third quarter before holding off the Rockets in the fourth quarter for the win. The Bucks shot 48.4 percent from the field, including eight of 27 from three point range, and limited the Rockets to 37.6 percent shooting. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 27 points, 21 rebounds and five assists in the win. Milwaukee is 8-8-1 ATS on the road this season while the under is 10-7 in those games.

The Bucks are above average so far this season offensively, ranking 1st in the league with 117.5 points a game. Milwaukee is elite on the boards at this point of the year as they are 1st with 49.4 rebounds per game. The Bucks are 5th in assists as they dish out 26.5 per contest. Milwaukee is 10th in scoring defense as they allow 108 points per game. Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the team with an average of 26.6 points to go with 12.8 rebounds and six assists per game. Khris Middleton (17.7 points), Brook Lopez (12.2 points), Eric Bledsoe (15 points, 5.5 assists) and Malcolm Brogdon (15.7 points) are all averaging in double figures for the Bucks. Ersan Ilyasova, Donte DiVincenzo, George Hill, Tony Snell, Pat Connaughton, Thon Maker and Jason Smith are all contributors for coach Mike Budenholzer. Milwaukee is 4th in the league in field goal percentage as the team shoots 47.8 percent from the floor. The Bucks are tied for 2nd with 13.4 three point field goals per game and stand tied for 18th as they shoot 34.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Washington Wizards Shooting for Back to Back Wins

Washington earned a win at home in the back half of their home and home set with the 76ers to get a split. The Wizards now look for back to back wins at home against teams near the top of the Eastern Conference standings here. Washington led by five after the opening quarter and extended their edge to 15 at the half before holding the 76ers at arm’s length the rest of the way. The Wizards shot 54 percent from the floor, including 13 of 27 from three point range, and forced 24 Philadelphia turnovers to offset 18 of their own. Bradley Beal led the way for Washington with 34 points in the victory. Washington is 6-16 ATS on the road this season with the under going 11-10-1 in those games.

The Wizards are 8th in the league in scoring offense with 113 points per game. Washington is 28th in the league on the glass with 40.6 boards per game. The Wizards are 10th with 25.2 assists per game. Washington is 29th in the league as they allow 116.5 points per game on the year. Bradley Beal leads the Wizards with 24.2 points. Markieff Morris (11.5 points, 5.1 rebounds) and Jeff Green (11.4 points) are solid contributors for the Wizards. Dwight Howard (12.8 points, 9.2 rebounds), Otto Porter Jr. (12.3 points), Trevor Ariza (11 points, 5.6 rebounds), Sam Dekker, Tomas Satoransky and Ian Mahinmi are all looked to by Scott Brooks to contribute. Washington is 11th in field goal percentage as the team shoots a collective 46.5 percent from the floor. The Wizards are 16th in the league with 10.9 triples a night while ranking 28th in three point shooting. Washington hits just 33.2 percent from downtown this season. Howard is out until late February after having surgery for a buttocks injury November 30, taking away their best rebounder and rim protector. With Wall done for the year after heel surgery, Satoransky is going to have to step up and produce. Morris is out at least six weeks with transient cervical neuropraxia, taking another piece out of the rotation.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.

Full-Game Side Bet
Rating:

Washington is going to have their work cut out in this one as they are missing key players in their rotation with Howard, Wall and Morris all out of the mix. As with most teams, it’s going to be tough to contain Antetokounmpo. Washington’s defense has been poor all season long and this is going to be a major test against the league’s top scoring offense. The Wizards are 29th in three point field goal defense as opponents hit 37.1 percent from beyond the arc. Look for the Bucks to take advantage and pick up the win in this one.

Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks -6.5

Full-Game Total Pick
Rating:

Washington is going to have a major challenge here trying to slow the Bucks, who have a slew of offensive weapons to work with. The Wizards are struggling on the defensive end of the floor and they’re facing the league’s best offensive attack in points per game. Washington is trying to claw back in the playoff picture and is fortunate that the Southeast Division is so terrible this season. Can the Wizards find a way to get a little momentum going for them here?

The under is 7-1 in the Bucks’ last 8 road games, 5-1 in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record, 5-1 in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 12-3 in their last 15 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game. Washington has seen the under go 4-0 in their last four against the Central Division and 6-1 in their last 7 vs. a team with a winning straight up record. The teams have stayed under the total in each of their last six meetings: this total, even with Milwaukee’s offense and Washington’s lack of defense, is a couple of points too high. Look for this one to stay under the number.

Prediction: Under 231

Half-Time Side Pick
Rating:

Milwaukee is right on the heels of the Raptors in the Eastern Conference’s race for the top spot. The Bucks have plenty of weapons to work with on the offensive end of the floor and the use of the three point shot has paid dividends for them this season. Washington doesn’t have the depth, especially missing Howard, Wall and Morris in the mix. The Bucks should have a comfortable advantage at the half in this one: give the points and take the visitors.

Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks -3.5

Half-Time Total Bet
Rating:

The Bucks have the ability of putting big numbers on the board on the offensive end of the floor on any given night. Facing a Washington team that has struggled to slow the opposition with any consistency this season only helps the Bucks. The Wizards are going to be severely tested when it comes to slowing Milwaukee’s attack. When you get right down to it, this one could be a track meet early before things slow down. Look for this one to be over the number at the half.

Prediction: Over 112.5
