Golden State Warriors (33-9; 19-22-1 ATS; 23-19 O/U) vs. Milwaukee Bucks (22-18; 17-18-5 ATS; 24-15 O/U)

Line: Golden State -6

Total: 224

The Golden State Warriors will take their show to Milwaukee to face the Bucks Friday night from the Target Center. The Warriors were crushed 125-106 by the Clippers in their latest action, and the Bucks notched a 110-103 home win over the Magic on Wednesday night. Golden State won both meetings against the Bucks last season.

Warriors Fall to Clippers, Curry Sits Out

The Golden State Warriors will look to get back into the win column after a rough 125-106 home loss to the Clippers on Wednesday night. The Warriors shot a solid 48% from the field, however, the Clippers were able to post a 49% mark. Kevin Durant put forth a valiant effort in the defeat, collecting 40 points on 14 for 18 shooting and drilled six three-pointers. The 29-year old star has shot above 50% from beyond the arc in four of his last five games and is currently averaging 26.3 points per game on 51% shooting. Draymond Green had a rough night in the loss to L.A., going 1 for 9 from the field for only seven points to go with ten boards. The 27-year old power forward is averaging just under 15 points this month, and he is up to 10.7 points and 7.8 rebounds on the season.

Stephen Curry sat out in Wednesday’s loss to the Clippers as his ankle injury has flared up and he is questionable for this one. The Warriors had their five-game winning streak snapped in the loss on Wednesday. They have not lost a road game since November 22nd, and posses a 17-3 road record on the season. Golden State is averaging an NBA leading 115.7 points per game. They are holding opponents to 106.6s. points, placing them 18th overall.

Antetokounmpo Leads Bucks Past Magic

The Milwaukee Bucks continued their productive play with a solid 110-103 home win against Orlando on Wednesday night. The Bucks shot a stellar 55% on the night and limited the Magic to a 43% clip. Bucks’ leading scorer Giannis Antetokounmpo played well once again, sinking 26 points on 10 for 15 shooting and added seven rebounds. The 23-year old power forward is having a career-year, currently averaging 28.7 points and 10 rebounds per game. Antetokounmpo is averaging 13.9 points in eight career games against Golden State. Khris Middleton also had a strong night in the win against Orlando, netting 22 points on a 9 for 14 effort from the field. The 26-year old small forward is on a 4 for 15 stretch from three-point territory in his last three games and stands second in team scoring with 20.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.

The Bucks own a 5-5 record in their last ten games and they have won three of their last four on their home court to boost their home record to 14-7. They have been shooting the ball well and are now averaging 106 points per game, ranking them 13th in the NBA. Milwaukee is allowing an average of 106.34 points, placing them 17th in the NBA.

Trends:

The Golden State Warriors are:

  • 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games against a team with a winning home record.
  • 19-7 ATS in their last 26 road games against a team with a home winning percentage above .600.

The Milwaukee Bucks are:

  • 2-7-2 ATS in their last 11 Friday games.

I am siding with Golden State in this matchup. The Bucks defense is shaky, and they do not defend the three well as their three-point defense ranks down at 29th in the NBA. Golden State leads the NBA with a 39% efficiency from three-point territory, and they should have an efficient night from beyond the arc again in this matchup. Minnesota is allowing an average of 109.3 points in their last 10 games, and I expect Golden State to notch a decisive road win.

Pick: Golden State

The Warriors continue to pour on the points and they rank first in the NBA in several offensive categories. Milwaukee is not a strong defensive team, and I definitely expect them to have trouble against this powerhouse offense, plus the over is 6-0 in the Warriors last six games overall. The Bucks are shooting a solid 48.7% on the season, good for third in the NBA, so they should have some success, plus the over is 9-2-1 in their last 12 home games.

Pick: Over
