It’s a battle of Western Conference teams looking to make a move in the standings down in the Lone Star State. The LA Clippers are on the road as they travel to face the Dallas Mavericks Tuesday night. LA snapped a five-game losing skid as they took down the Spurs 103-95 Sunday night on the road. Dallas was beaten 116-106 on the road by the Bucks Monday afternoon in their previous contest. The Mavericks own a 92-62 advantage in the all-time regular season series. This season, the teams split two meetings with the Clippers taking a 125-121 home win in the most recent matchup on December 20, 2018.
LA Clippers Seek Back to Back Wins

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
The Clippers picked up a win in their last game and they had Monday off to get a breather before this contest. While the Mavericks have been good at home, they simply have no momentum at this point in time. Four straight losses and seven losses in their past nine straight games has knocked the Mavericks down the standings in the Western Conference. Dallas is a dismal 0-7 in the second game of back to back situations coming into this one: look for that trend to continue as the Clippers get the upper hand in this contest.
Prediction: LA Clippers
Full-Game Total Pick
Dallas has struggled over the last few weeks, dropping them from right in the mix for a playoff spot to five games back. The Mavericks are at a point where they have to seriously start making tough decisions about the future. Nowitzki hasn’t done much since returning to the mix and there are reports that the Kings are interested in Barnes. Smith Jr. is expected to return here after missing the last several games but it’s unclear how stable the relationship between team and player is. LA is trying to hold onto their playoff spot here and they picked up a win over the Spurs Sunday night. Can the Clippers make it two straight victories here?
The under is 4-0 in the Clippers’ last 4 road games, 6-1 in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record, 6-1 in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 5-1 in their last 6 games playing on 1 day of rest. Dallas has seen the under go 4-1 in their last 5 home games and 7-2 in their last nine overall. With the Mavericks playing the second game of a back to back here, this one likely ends up under the total.
Half-Time Side Pick
Dallas has stumbled badly in recent weeks and their inability to put together a full 48 minutes has cost them dearly. The Mavericks rallied from nine down after the opening quarter to lead by two against the Bucks at the half before fading. Dallas simply doesn’t have the pieces to rely on at this point in time to be expected to have a ton of success. LA got back in the win column after snapping a five game skid. The Clippers had Monday off and had time to rest while the Mavericks had to fly back from Milwaukee. Look for LA to get the edge at the half in this one.
Prediction: LA Clippers
Half-Time Total Bet
You can’t expect the Mavericks to have a ton left in the tank after playing Monday afternoon in Milwaukee. This marks Dallas’s third game in four nights and that wears down the best of teams. The Mavericks are slumping and the Clippers know that they need wins to maintain their hold on the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. LA showed a solid performance against the Spurs, taking the lead early and never letting San Antonio jump back in front. The Clippers will wear Dallas down and make the Mavericks grind possessions: this one is under the number at the half.
