It’s an interconference clash on the parquet floor in the Motor City. The Los Angeles Lakers are on the road as they make the trip to face the Detroit Pistons Friday night. Los Angeles Lakers Cap Back to Back Road Set

The Lakers average 110.6 points per game in those situations, which is less than their full-season mark of 112.2 points a night. Detroit Pistons Hope to Put Back to Back Blowouts Behind Them

Detroit suffered their second straight blowout loss on the road as they were blitzed by the Heat. The Pistons entered Thursday seventh in the Eastern Conference, four games ahead of ninth-place Orlando to remain in the playoff picture. Detroit trailed by 12 after the opening quarter and cut the deficit to five at the half before the ceiling fell in. The Pistons gave up a 21-0 run out of the locker room and were outscored 33-8 in the third quarter to trail by 30: that told the tale. Detroit was held to 35.1 percent shooting from the floor, including eight of 37 from three-point range, and turned the ball over 17 times in the contest. Blake Griffin led the Pistons with 13 points in the loss.

The Pistons are mediocre so far offensively, ranking 23rd in scoring offense with 107.2 points per game. Andre Drummond has stepped up his game as he puts up 16.1 points, 15.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals as he is shooting 54.5 percent from the floor. Reggie Jackson is contributing with 15.4 points along with three assists a night in that stretch. He is shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from three-point range while draining 21 threes.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.

Full-Game Side Bet

Los Angeles is playing the second game of a back to back situation here and it’s on the road. The Lakers have gone just 13-20 as the visiting team this season and they’re dealing with injuries in their rotation. Detroit has to shake off back to back blowout losses but at least this one is back at home for the Pistons, who are 21-13 as the hosts. The Pistons still have the dynamic duo of Griffin and Drummond, plus a hot perimeter shooting group of late. That is enough to give Detroit the edge against a tired Lakers team that is missing key personnel and standing close to the brink of elimination in the playoff picture.
