Golden State meets Houston in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals on Wednesday night. The Warriors outlasted the Rockets in Game 1, outscoring them by 13 in the second half to win, 119-106.
Kevin Durant was the star in Game 1 for Golden State, He shot 14-of-27 from the field and there was nobody on the Rockets that could stop him. Stephen Curry had a solid all-around game with 18 points, eight assists and six boards.
James Harden scored 40 points to lead the Rockets but the Houston offense was stagnant all night as they relied on a lot of isolation ball with no ball movement. Chris Paul added 23 points and 11 rebounds but had just three assists.
Houston is the king of “iso” ball but they need to move the ball around more to beat the Warriors. They do have capable scorers in Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson, who can spread the floor. Golden State is 4-1 Over their last 5 conference finals games. Houston is 15-7 Over their last 22 after a double-digit loss at home.
