The murderer’s row of opposition finally comes to an end for the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday with the New York Knicks coming to town for a visit. Since defeating the Dallas Mavericks in early January, the Hornets have gone on to lose their last eight straight games, including recent back-to-back home losses to the Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic. The Knicks, on the other hand, are coming off a 110-97 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

Knicks split even with the Nets
The battle for the Big Apple ended in a two-way split between the Knicks and Nets.
Julius Randle dropped a team-high 22 points to help propel the Knicks to a 110-97 victory
. It was one of the few impressive offensive showings we’ve seen from the team all season. They finished the game shooting 53.3 percent from the floor, along with going plus-12 in rebounds. It wasn’t a performance reminiscent of a team that currently ranks third-worst in the league in offensive efficiency.
They’ll try to stay on the winning track in Tuesday’s road trip to Charlotte. The Knicks are only averaging 104.3 points per game, and they’ll be without rookie guard RJ Barrett. That puts them in a position where others will have to step up and contribute to an offense leaning heavily on Randle and Marcus Morris.
On the defensive end of the floor, the Knicks are allowing an average 46.4 field goal shooting percentage to opponents. It’s unlikely Charlotte will be able to capitalize on those weaknesses with the league’s worst scoring offense.
