Delaware Blue Hens (7-11) at Drexel Dragons (6-11)

The Delaware Blue Hens hit the road to take on the Drexel Dragons for a Saturday afternoon showdown. This is a big matchup for both teams who are winless in Colonial Athletic Association Conference play. Both teams enter the contest with a five-game losing streak. Rodney Williams leads the Dragons as he is averaging 16.6 points and 6.9 rebounds. The Blue Hens are led by Ryan Daly who is putting up 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds a game. Delaware is 333rd in the nation in scoring (63.8 ppg) and Drexel is 141st in offense (75.5 ppg). Can Williams lead the Dragons to a much-needed victory?
Blue Hens fall to Tigers
On Thursday, the Delaware Blue Hens lost 83-56 to the Towson Tigers. Towson pulled away in the second half after outscoring Delaware 47-28. Daly led the Blue Hens with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting. He was the only Delaware player to score in double-figures. Skye Johnson had eight points, six rebounds, and three blocks in only 18 minutes off the bench. The Blue Hens had trouble containing Brian Starr who had 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Delaware shot 42 percent from the field and Towson shot 53 percent. The Tigers out-rebounded the Blue Hens 42-26 in the contest.
Anthony Mosley and Devonne Pinkard added eight points apiece in the loss. Delaware had 14 turnovers in the games and Towson committed nine.
Dragons defense struggles in loss to Huskies
The Drexel Dragons lost 92-75 to the Northeastern Huskies 92-75 on Thursday night. Northeastern took control in the second half when they outscored Drexel 54-43. Sammy Mojica led the Dragons with 18 points and six rebounds. Williams went for 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting in the loss. The Dragons shot a respectable 48 percent from the field while the Huskies shot a scorching 61 percent. Drexel had trouble containing T.J. Williams who had 30 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Kurk Lee wound up with 11 points, five assists, and five steals.
Miles Overton added 14 points off the bench. Northeastern committed 11 turnovers while Drexel only had eight. The Huskies out-rebounded the Dragons 34-30.

Despite Delaware’s struggles to score they should hang around against a defensively-challenged Drexel team. Look for Daly to have a big game to keep his Blue Hens in it.
