This Friday, there is an NCAAB matchup between the Furman Paladins and the Wofford Terriers. This game will take place at the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium at approximately 7:00 P.M EST.
Furman Looks To Keep RollingThe Furman Paladins have looked like a very good college basketball team so far this season. The Paladins have won 15 of their first 19 games this season and they enter this game on a high note after beating Western Carolina at home by four points in their last game. In that game, Furman's offense was solid as it scored 83 points while shooting 45.9% from the floor. In addition, Furman enters this game in great form as it has won eight of its last nine games. Now, Furman will be looking to continue its winning ways with a conference road game up next.
Leading the Paladins offensively is senior guard Jordan Lyons who has looked good this season as he is averaging a team-high 17.0 points per game along with 2.6 rebounds. However, he is also averaging 2.3 turnovers per game so he will need to do a better job with his ball security moving forward.
Last night's win over Western Carolina moved the Paladins to the top of the league standings. The Dins travel to Spartanburg tomorrow night for another big one! Tip-off against Wofford is set for 7PM. #AllDIN pic.twitter.com/pl69ApugyQ— Furman Basketball (@FurmanHoops) January 16, 2020
Furman's most underrated player is junior forward Clay Mounce who has looked very good this season as he is averaging 13.6 points per game along with a team-high 6.6 rebounds. In addition, he is averaging a team-high 1.7 steals per game so he has been very active on both sides of the ball.
Wofford Looks For Another Home WinThe Wofford Terriers have looked like a pretty good basketball team up to this point in the season. The Terriers have won 11 of their first 18 games this season despite entering this game on a low note after losing to Chattanooga by 13 points on the road in their last game. In that game, Wofford's offense was awful as it only scored 59 points while shooting just 40.0% from the floor. Now, Wofford will be looking to get back on track with a conference home game up next. Luckily, the Terriers have won seven of their first eight home games so perhaps playing in front of their home crowd will lead to another victory.
Leading the Terriers offensively is senior guard Nathan Hoover who has been pretty underwhelming this season. He is averaging a team-high 14.3 points per game along with 4.4 rebounds. However, he is shooting just 33.9% from the floor and just 29.5% from the three-point line so he has been very inefficient offensively up to this point in the season.
