We have a Missouri Valley Conference matchup to consider for Saturday evening when the Indiana State Sycamores meet the Valparaiso Crusaders for an evening of Missouri Valley Conference college hoops action. Indiana State is 3-2 in the conference and enters this game riding a two-game winning streak. Valparaiso is 2-3 in the conference standings and is hoping to end a one-game losing streak when they host the Sycamores.

Sycamores Two Game Winning Streak

Indiana State is 3-2 in the conference and has an overall record of 10-6 this season. The Sycamores have won three of its last five games and Saturday marks the beginning of a two-game road trip. Indiana State is 1-4 this season on the road and is fifth in the conference standings.

Indiana State has two players scoring in double figures and is led by junior guard Tyreke Key. The junior guard averages 17.6 points per game with 5.3 caroms and 2.1 assists. Key and is drilling 37 percent of his three-point attempts and is coming off a 13 point, five steals night in the Sycamores home win over Evansville.

Valpo Falls to Northern Iowa

Valparaiso is 2-3 in conference play and boasts a 9-9 overall record this season. The Crusaders are 4-1 this season at home and have lost three of their last five games. Saturday marks game one of a one-off homestand before a road game against Missouri State and the Crusaders are currently tied for fifth in the conference standings.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

I will take Indiana State on Saturday. The Sycamores offense is much better than the Valpo defense and they will be shooting at least 24 triple attempts on Saturday. Valpo doesn’t defend the three-point shot very well and if they start knocking down shots, and I think they will, Indiana State is going to blow them out of their own barn. I will side with the Sycamores to defeat the Crusaders in this contest.

Prediction: Indiana State

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

My math has this one ending at 145 points and that seems to fall a little bit on the low side. Neither team would be confused with being defensive-minded and I see a high scoring affair on Saturday. Both teams play at about the same tempo and there will be enough possessions to exceed the total and especially so if Indiana State starts knocking down threes. I will play OVER at 145 points and below in this matchup.

Prediction: Over
