The Long Beach State 49ers will be trying to extend their winning streak to four games when they entertain the Cal State Fullerton Titans at the Walter Pyramid on Saturday night. Long Beach State is coming off consecutive victories over Bethesda, UC Davis, and UC Irvine. Cal State Fullerton earned its first Big West Conference win of the year on Thursday night, defeating UC Riverside 69-61. Senior guards Kyle Allman, Jr. and Khalil Ahmad led the team in scoring with 21 and 14 points, respectively. Ahmad is tops on the team and third in the Big West in scoring at 18.0 points per game. He had a strong showing at the Myrtle Beach Invitational as he earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Over the three-game tournament he averaged 25.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals, including a 40-point outburst against Monmouth. He is also fourth in the league in steals per game at 1.56. Allman has scored 20-plus points in three of the last four games and seven times this season. He is second on the team and fourth in the league in points per game at 17.5, and third on CSF in assists. The Brooklyn native has scored has scored 10-plus in 34 of his last 36 contests.
Junior forward Jackson Rowe, the Big West Player of the Week on Jan. 7, has been doing a bit of everything on the floor this year for the Titans. He is averaging 10.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game while leading the team in both rebounds and blocks. He is shooting an impressive 56.6 percent (64-of-113) from the field this year, the No. 2 mark in the league. He recorded his second double-double of the season at Washington (Jan. 1) to earn weekly conference honors as he posted 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Long Beach State opened conference play with an impressive home win, downing defending champions UC Davis 82-77 in the Walter Pyramid. Senior Deishuan Booker scored a career-high 32 points and set a school record at the line, making 19 of 20 free throws, breaking the old record of 17 makes in one game. On Wednesday, the Beach beat UC Irvine on the road 80-70. Deishuan Booker continued his outstanding play, scoring 28 points with six assists to lead the team, while Bryan Alberts chipped in 17 with a team and career-high seven rebounds. Long Beach State opened conference play with an impressive home win, beating defending conference champion UC Davis 82-77. Booker scored a career-high 32 points as well as making 19 of 20 free throws in that contest. Over the last two games, Booker is 34-of-36 from the free-throw line and is now third in the country with 119 makes on the year, shooting better than 90 percent from the stripe.

Long Beach State boasts a six-player senior class, giving the Beach a more experienced roster. Only two of the six seniors (Temidayo Yussuf and Mason Riggins) have spent more than two seasons at the Beach, with the other four transferring in from other schools, though all six played during the 2017-18 season for LBSU.
