Wisconsin Looks For A Rare Road Win

The Wisconsin Badgers have looked like a pretty good college basketball team so far this season. The Badgers have won 12 of their first 19 games of the season and enter this game on a high note after beating Nebraska by 14 points at home in their last game. In that game, Wisconsin's offense was great as it scored 82 points while shooting 52.9% from the three-point line. Now, Wisconsin will look for another conference win on the road. However, the Badgers have struggled on the road this season as they have lost five of their first eight road games so one can expect them to struggle a bit in this hostile environment.

Leading the Badgers offensively is junior forwardNate Reuvers who has been solid this season as he is averaging a team-high 14.0 points per game along with 5.4 rebounds. In addition, he is averaging a team-high 2.2 blocks per game so he has been very active on both sides of the ball.

Wisconsin's most underrated player is junior forwardMicah Potter who has been pretty good this season as he is averaging 9.3 points along with a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game. In addition, he is shooting 53.7% from the floor so he has been efficient offensively up to this point.

Purdue Looks To Get Back On Track

The Purdue Boilermakers have looked like an average college basketball team up to this point in the season. The Boilermakers have a 10-9 record and enter this game in terrible form after losing to Illinois by 17 points at home in their last game. To make matters worse, Purdue has lost four of its last five games so it will be looking to get back on track with another home game up next. Luckily, the Boilermakers have a 9-4 record at Mackey Arena so they have tended to play really well in front of their home fans. Now, Purdue will be looking for a huge boost from its fans on Friday.

Leading the Boilermakers offensively is sophomore forward Trevion Williamswho has been solid so far this season as he is averaging a team-high 11.3 points per game along with a team-high 7.5 rebounds. In addition, he is shooting 56.5% from the floor so he has been very efficient offensively up to this point.

Purdue's most underrated player is sophomore guard Eric Hunter Jr. who has been good this season as he is averaging 10.5 points per game along with 3.7 rebounds. However, he is also averaging 2.6 fouls and 1.8 turnovers per game so he will need to reduce the number of mistakes moving forward.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

Even though Wisconsin has looked like the better overall team this season, it has won just three of its first eight road games this season so I cannot trust the Badgers in this spot. Meanwhile, Purdue has a 9-4 record at home this season and it is a bit telling that a 10-9 team is favored in this spot so I think that the Boilermakers should be able to put in a good performance in front of their home fans on Friday. Plus, Purdue has been the much better rebounding team so it should be able to generate enough second-chance points in order to cover this spread. Give me the home team.

Prediction: Purdue -4

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

Both of these two teams have been elite defensively so I have to take the under. Wisconsin is only allowing 60.6 points per game while Purdue is only allowing 60.5 points per game so I can see points coming at a premium in this game. Plus, Wisconsin likes to play at a very slow tempo as it ranks 350th in adjusted offensive tempo according to Kenpom rankings so I think that this low total is actually not low enough considering the projected pace of play. As a result, I have to take the under in this game.

Prediction: Under 115

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

Purdue enters this game off a terrible home loss to Illinois in its last game so it should be very motivated to get out to a fast start over the first 20 minutes of this game. Wisconsin has also struggled a lot away from home up to this point so I expect the Badgers to struggle early on in such a hostile environment. Plus, the home team has dominated this series in recent years so I would expect that trend to continue in the first half as Purdue should be able to maintain a lead entering the break. Give me the home team as a result.

Prediction: Purdue 1H
