UC Riverside Looks For Another Conference Win

The UC Riverside Highlanders have looked like a pretty solid basketball team up to this point in the season as they have won 13 of their first 21 games. In addition, UC Riverside enters this game on a high note as it won its last game against Cal Poly at home by 33 points. In that game, UC Riverside's offense was great as it scored 97 points while shooting 53.6% from the floor. Now, the Highlanders will be looking for another conference win on Saturday in this road game. However, UC Riverside has lost four of its first six road games this season so it has struggled a bit away from home.

Leading the Highlanders offensively is junior forwardArinze Chidom who has been good this season as he is averaging a team-high 11.3 points per game along with a team-high 7.3 rebounds. In addition, he is shooting 48.3% from the three-point line so he has been able to stretch defenses out all by himself.

UC Riverside's most underrated player is sophomore centerCallum McRae who has been solid so far this season as he is averaging 9.0 points per game along with 6.2 rebounds. In addition, he is shooting 55.2% from the floor so he has been pretty efficient up to this point.

Gauchos Look To Snap Losing Streak

The UCSB Gauchos have looked like a decent college basketball team so far this season. The Gauchos have won 12 of their first 19 games despite losing their last game to Cal State Northridge at home by eight points. In that game, UCSB's defense was terrible as it gave up 83 points while letting the opposition to shoot 52.5% from the floor. To make matters worse, the Gauchos have now lost each of their last three games and they will be looking to snap this losing streak in front of their home fans on Saturday. Luckily, UC Santa Barbara has won seven of their ten home games so it has played well at The Thunderdome up to this point.

Leading the Gauchos offensively is junior guardJaQuori McLaughlin who has been solid so far this season. He is averaging a team-high 15.2 points per game along with 3.8 assists and 3.7 assists. In addition, he is shooting an impressive 43.1% from the three-point line as he has been lethal from downtown up to this point in the season.

UCSB's most underrated player is senior guard Max Heidegger who has been solid so far this season. He is averaging 14.6 points per game along with 2.7 assists. However, he is also shooting just 23.8% from the three-point line so he has been pretty inefficient from downtown up to this point.

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Both of these two teams have been very good defensively so I think that this total is a bit too high. UC Riverside is only allowing 61.0 points per game while UC Santa Barbara is only allowing 66.7 points per game so I think that this game should be very low-scoring. Plus, UC Riverside ranks 327th in adjusted offensive tempo according to Kenpom rankings so I think that this game should be played at a very slow pace which bodes very well for the under. As a result, I think that there is a lot of value with the under in this spot.

Prediction: Under 128

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

UC Riverside has been a very underrated basketball team all season long and I think that it should be able to come out with a solid performance over the first half of this game. UC Riverside should be able to dictate the pace of play as the Highlanders should be able to shorten this game in the halfcourt. Plus, UC Riverside is the much better rebounding team in this matchup as it is averaging roughly two more rebounds per game so it should be able to generate enough second-chance points in order to cover this spread. Give me the road team.

Prediction: UC Riverside 1H
