Nebraska Looks To Snap Losing Streak

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have looked like one of the worst teams in the Big Ten up to this point in the season. The Cornhuskers have lost 12 of their first 19 games including a road loss to Wisconsin by 14 points in their last game. In that game, Nebraska's defense was terrible as it gave up 82 points while allowing the opposition to shoot 52.9% from the three-point line. To make matters worse, Nebraska is currently on a four-game losing streak which has pushed the Cornhuskers into a tie for 12th place in the conference standings. Now, the Cornhuskers will be looking to get back on track with a conference road game up next.

Leading the Cornhuskers offensively is sophomore guard Cam Mackwho has been solid so far this season as he is averaging a team-high 13.0 points per game along with a team-high 6.8 assists. However, he is only shooting 40.6% from the floor so he has been pretty inefficient offensively up to this point.

Nebraska's most underrated player is junior guardDachon Burke Jr. who has been good this season as he is averaging 12.2 points per game along with 4.2 rebounds. In addition, he is averaging a team-high 1.4 steals per game so he has been very active on both sides of the ball.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Rutgers has been playing elite defensive throughout the season so I think that this total is just a bit too high. Rutgers is only allowing 60.1 points per game so I think that Nebraska will struggle offensively throughout the entirety of this game. Plus, Rutgers likes to play at a very slow tempo as it ranks 222nd in adjusted offensive tempo according to Kenpom rankings so I think that this game should be played primarily in the halfcourt which will result in less possessions for both teams. As a result, I think that there is some value with the under in this spot.

Prediction: Under 142

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Rutgers enters this game off a tough road loss to Iowa in its last game so it should be very motivated to get back to its winning ways in this game which should result in a strong first half performance. Nebraska is also struggling a lot away from home up to this point as it is still winless on the road so I expect the Cornhuskers to struggle early on in such a hostile environment. Plus, Rutgers has won 13 of its first 14 home games this season so I expect the Scarlet Knights to continue rolling at home for at least the first 20 minutes. Give me the home team.
