This Friday, there is an NCAAB matchup between the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles and the Iowa Hawkeyes. This will be the first meeting between these teams this season and it will take place at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Oral Roberts Continues To Struggle Defensively

The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles have looked underwhelming up to this point in the season. The Golden Eagles have lost two of their first three games after losing their last game to Tulsa by seven points. In that game, Oral Roberts' defense was terrible as it allowed Tulsa to shoot a whopping 50.9% shooting from the floor. Now, Oral Roberts has to remain on the road to face an even better offensive team on Friday. If Oral Roberts does not improve defensively, Iowa can easily score at least 85 points in this game.

Leading the Golden Eagles offensively is senior guard Deondre Burns who has looked great this season. He is averaging a team-high 16.7 points per game along with 5.7 rebounds while shooting 48.8% from the floor. However, Burns is shooting just 12.5% from the three-point line so he will need to start shooting better from the outside moving forward.

Oral Roberts' most underrated player is sophomore forward Elijah Lufile who has looked solid this season. He is currently averaging 7.3 points per game while shooting 50.0% from the floor. In addition, he is averaging a team-high 8.3 rebounds in just 17.3 minutes per game. Now, he will look to battle on the boards with a solid rebounding team as he could see an uptick in minutes.

Iowa Looks To Get Back Over .500

The Iowa Hawkeyes have looked underwhelming up to this point in the season. The Hawkeyes have only won one of their first two games of the season after losing their last game to DePaul at home by 15 points. In that game, Iowa's defense was terrible as it allowed DePaul to score a whopping 93 points on 61.4% shooting from the floor. Now, Iowa has to face off against another solid offense at home on Friday as it will look to put forth a much better performance on the defensive end. If Iowa plans on getting back over .500, its defense cannot afford to give up more than 75 points at home against a non-conference foe.

Leading the Hawkeyes offensively is junior centerLuka Garzawho has looked great this season. He is averaging a team-high 17.0 points per game along with 10.0 rebounds while shooting 48.0% from the floor. In addition, he has also been a great rim protector as he is averaging 1.5 blocks per game. Garza will look to continue playing well against a below-average defense in this one.

Iowa's most underrated player is senior guard Jordan Bohannon who has looked awful this season. He is currently averaging just 6.0 points per game along with 3.0 assists. He has also been extremely inefficient as he is shooting just 28.6% from the three-point line. Bohannon has been an amazing shooter his entire college career but he has started this season on a huge slump. Now, he will look to snap out of it on Friday.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Iowa has the talent to be a sleeper in the Big Ten this year as it returns a lot of talent from last season's team. As a result, I think that Iowa will be able to cover this spread against Oral Roberts who barely plays any defense whatsoever. Plus, Iowa should be motivated to put in a great performance after an embarrassing loss to DePaul in its last game so I think the Hawkeyes will take this game extremely seriously. Iowa should win this game by about 15 points so I will take the home team.

Prediction: Iowa -12.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Although this total appears a bit high, both teams have solid offenses and awful defenses so I think this total is not high enough. Iowa loves to play an uptempo style of offense in which it shoots a ton of three-pointers which should lead to a lot of points in transition. Meanwhile, Oral Roberts plays in a very similar way so I think the pace of play alone should be fast enough for this game to get into the high-160s. Give me the over.

Prediction: Over 161.5

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

After such a disappointing loss in its last game, I expect Iowa to come out extremely motivated in the first half as it will look to take some of its anger out on Oral Roberts at home on Friday. Iowa should be able to overwhelm Oral Roberts with its elite athleticism and shooting as the Hawkeyes should enter halftime with a double digit lead. Oral Roberts plays virtually no defense so I expect Iowa to score at least 40 points in the first half which will be too much for Oral Roberts to keep up with. Give me the home team.

Prediction: Iowa 1H
