This Saturday, there is an NCAAB matchup between the Eastern Michigan Eagles and the North Texas Mean Green. This will be the first meeting between these teams this season and it will take place at the UNT Coliseum.
Eastern Michigan Looks To Remain UndefeatedThe Eastern Michigan Eagles have looked great so far this season. The Eagles have won each of their first three games of the season by double digits including a 13 point victory against Michigan Dearborn at home in their last game. In that game, Eastern Michigan's defense as great as it only allowed 59 points while forcing the opposition to commit 22 turnovers. However, Eastern Michigan's undefeated record is inflated as it has yet to face a division one opponent yet this season. That will change on Saturday as Eastern Michigan will get its first true test of the season on the road to see just how good this team truly is.
Leading the Eagles offensively is junior forward Ty Groce who has been great so far this season. He is averaging a team-high 17.0 points per game along with 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. In addition, he has also been extremely efficient as he is shooting 55.6% from the floor. Groce is the main cog in this offense and he has the ability to lead his team to its first road victory of the season on Saturday.

Eastern Michigan's most underrated player is freshman guard Chris James who has been extremely solid this season. He is averaging 12.5 points per game along with 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals. In addition, he has also been extremely efficient from the floor as he is shooting 57.1% from the floor and an insane 83.3% from the three-point line.
North Texas Continues To Struggle OffensivelyThe North Texas Mean Green have looked underwhelming up to this point in the season. North Texas has lost two of their first three games after losing their last game to Arkansas by 23 points. In that game, North Texas' offense was terrible as it only scored 43 points on just 33.3% shooting from the floor. However, that performance was not an anomaly as North Texas has struggled to score the ball all season long. Through three games, North Texas is averaging just 59.3 points per game which is unacceptable if it plans on becoming more competitive throughout the rest of the season.
Leading the Mean Green offensively is junior forward Zachary Simmonswho has looked pretty good this season. He is averaging a team-high 10.0 points per game along with 7.0 rebounds while shooting 52.0% from the floor. However, Simmons is the only player on the team scoring at least ten points per game so he has little to no help from his teammates offensively which might allow teams to bring an extra defender towards him in the future.
North Texas' most underrated player is senior guard DJ Draper who has looked pretty good this season. He is currently averaging 7.0 points per game while shooting 70.0% from the floor. In addition, he is also shooting an insane 70.0% from the three-point line as he has become the main sharpshooter on the active roster. With a team that struggles to put the ball in the basket on a regular basis, look for Draper to take more shots in the future.
