This Saturday, there is an NCAAB matchup between the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and the Creighton Bluejays. This will be the first meeting between these teams this season and it will take place at the CHI Health Center Omaha.
Louisiana Tech Looks To Remain UndefeatedThe Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have looked great so far this season. The Bulldogs have won each of their first two games of the season by at least 33 points including a 46 point victory against Wiley at home in their last game. In that game, Louisiana Tech's offense was great as it scored 98 points while shooting 50.7% from the floor. However, Louisiana Tech's undefeated record is inflated as it has yet to face a team better than Texas A&M-CC this season. That will change on Saturday as Louisiana Tech will get its first true test of the season on the road in one of the most hostile environments in the country. Only time will tell if the Bulldogs are truly up for the challenge.
Leading the Bulldogs offensively is junior guard Kalob Ledoux who has been pretty good so far this season. He is averaging a team-high 15.5 points per game along with 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists.Ledoux has also yet to miss a free throw this season so he has the ability to put games away late when he is needed to. However, he has been a bit inefficient as he is shooting 42.9% from the floor which he will need to improve upon moving forward.
Louisiana Tech's most underrated player is senior forward Mubarak Muhammed who has been solid this season. Offensively, he is averaging just 4.5 points per game along with 6.0 rebounds. Defensively, he is averaging a team-high 2.0 blocks per game along with 1.5 steals in just 13.5 minutes per game. Muhammed has become the defensive anchor for this team and he will look to continue remaining active on both sides of the ball.
Creighton Looks For A Bounce Back Win At HomeThe Creighton Bluejays have been mediocre so far this season in a very limited sample size. The Bluejays have won half of their first two games of the season but suffered a ten-point loss against Michigan on the road in their last game. In that game, Creighton's defense was awful as it allowed 79 points on 56.6% shooting from the floor. It is almost impossible for any team to win when it lets the opposition shoot north of 55% from the floor and Creighton had to learn that the hard way. Now, Creighton will be looking for an improved defensive performance which might lead to a bounce-back victory at home that will get the Bluejays a winning record once again.
Leading the Bluejays offensively is junior guard Ty-Shon Alexanderwho has been great so far this season. He is averaging a team-high 19.5 points per game along with 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. In addition, he is shooting 50.0% from the three-point line and 100.0% from the free-throw line so he has the ability to take over a game whenever he wants to. Alexander decided to return to college for another season and he definitely appears to be a future selection in the NBA Draft.
Creighton's most underrated player is sophomore forward Christian Bishop who has been decent this season. He is averaging 10.0 points per game along with 6.0 assists in just 21.0 minutes of action. In addition, Bishop has also turned into a solid rim protector as he is averaging a team-high 1.5 blocks per game. Now, Bishop will look to alter even more shots in Saturday's game.
