The Wyoming Cowboys will be trying to snap their three-game losing streak when they take on the Detroit Mercy Titans on Tuesday night.
Titans Looking For First Win Of The YearThe Titans are off to a bad start this season, but their start isn’t as bad as their record indicates because their first two games came on the road against NC State and Clemson, two teams they didn’t really have a chance against.
Davis posted a game-high 26 points and six assists to go with a career-high four steals and three rebounds. Miller ends with 13 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, while Brandon had 12 points and eight boards as the Titans fought hard here at Clemson #DetroitsCollegeTeam #HLMBB pic.twitter.com/wcYXILCD7G— Detroit Mercy MBB (@DetroitMBB) November 17, 2019
With one more road game before they head home for their next two games, the Titans will be trying to pick up their first win of the year on Tuesday night.
Detroit Mercy has struggled defensively, giving up 85.5 points per game. Even though the games came against teams that had more depth than they do, the Titans still have to play better defense if they want to make it to the postseason this year.
The Titans also have some work to do on offense, with the team averaging 65 points per game. They are shooting 36 percent from the field and 24 percent from three-point range.
In their last game, the Titans scored 65 points against the Tigers, led by Antoine Davis, who finished the game with 26 points, three rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Justin Miller finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Chris Brandon added 12 points and eight rebounds.
The Titans have to do a better job shooting the ball to give themselves a chance to pick up their first win of the year.
Cowboys Need To Fix Offensive IssuesThe Cowboys would be one of the most difficult teams to beat if they were half as good offensively as they are on the defensive end, but that isn’t likely to happen any time soon. The team has lost three consecutive games and is in danger of losing its fourth straight game because of its shooting problems.
Wyoming is averaging 50.5 points per game thanks to the team shooting 38 percent from the field and 22 percent from three-point range. After scoring 53 points or less in each of its first three games, Wyoming scored a season-high 63 points in its last game and will be hoping to build on that on Tuesday night.
Hunter Maldonado led the way for the Cowboys in their last game, finishing with 18 points, five rebounds, and two assists, while A.J. Banks added 10 points, two assists, and two steals for the Cowboys, who finished with two players scoring in double figures.
The Cowboys have played well on the defensive end, holding opponents to 62.3 points per game. They gave up a season-high 83 points in their last game and will need a better performance on Tuesday if they want to beat the Titans.
