This Wednesday, there is an NCAAB matchup between the San Diego State Aztecs and the San Diego Toreros. This will be the first meeting between these teams this season and it will take place at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Aztecs Look To Stay Undefeated
The San Diego State Aztecs have looked incredible up to this point in the regular season. The Aztecs have won each of their first three games of the season including a blowout home victory against Grand Canyon in their last game. In that game, San Diego State's defense was great as it only allowed 61 points while forcing the opposition to shoot just 22.4% from the three-point line. San Diego State is only giving up 58.0 points per game this season as teams have found it almost impossible to score against the Aztecs on a regular basis. Now, the Aztecs will look to continue playing solid defense with the hopes of keeping its undefeated record intact.Leading the Aztecs offensively is junior guard Malachi Flynnwho has been great so far this season. He is averaging a team-high 15.3 points per game along with 6.3 assists. In addition, he has also been great defensively as he is averaging a team-high 1.7 steals per game. Now, Flynn will look to continue dominating on both sides of the ball against an instate rival on the road.

San Diego State's most underrated player is sophomore forward Nathan Mensah who has been extremely solid this season. He is averaging 8.7 points per game along with a team-high 10.3 rebounds in just 20.3 minutes of action. In addition, he has also been extremely efficient from the floor as he is shooting 70.6% from the floor. Mensah has been vital to the undefeated start to San Diego State's season and he will look to continue playing well.
San Diego Looks To Get Back To .500
The San Diego Toreros have looked a bit underwhelming so far this season. The Toreros currently have a losing record through five games including an 18 point loss against Colorado on the road in their last game. In that game, San Diego's offense was awful as it scored just 53 points while shooting 34.5% from the floor. Now, San Diego will look to get back on track offensively with its home crowd behind it. However, the Toreros are just 1-1 at home this season so one has to wonder just how much better they will realistically play at home. With a great defensive team up next, San Diego will need to find a way to shoot the ball more efficiently from the floor.Leading the Toreros offensively is sophomore guard Joey Calcaterra who has been solid so far this season. He is averaging a team-high 16.8 points per game along with 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists. In addition, he has also been extremely efficient from the floor as he is shooting 41.4% from the three-point line. Now, Calcaterra will have to face an elite defensive team as he will look to continue his hot shooting from the perimeter.

In addition, he is also shooting 45.5% from the three-point line as he has proven that he can hit that outside shot repeatedly when he needs to.
