This Wednesday, there is an NCAAB matchup between the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos and the Oregon State Beavers. This will be the first meeting between these teams this season and it will take place at Gill Coliseum.

UC Santa Barbara Looks To Forget About Its Last Game

The UCSB Gauchos have looked extremely underwhelming so far this season. The Gauchos currently have a losing record through three games including a one point loss to Rice at home in their last game. In that game, UCSB's defense was terrible as it allowed 82 points on 52.8% shooting from the floor. To make matters worse, the Gauchos were up 20 points at the half and let the Owls outscore them by 21 points in the second half en route to a shocking defeat. Now, UCSB will look to forget about that loss as quickly as possible since beating Oregon State on the road will require its full attention.

Leading the Gauchos offensively is senior guardMax Heideggerwho has been amazingso far this season. He is averaging a team-high 20.3 points per game along with 2.7 assists. In addition, he has also been extremely efficient from the floor as he is shooting an impressive 59.0% from the floor. Heidegger has the ability to take over a game all by himself and he will look to help lead his team to this upset victory.

UCSB's most underrated player is junior guard JaQuori McLaughlin who has been solid so far this season. He is averaging 9.7 points per game along with 2.7 assists. In addition, he is also shooting an impressive 44.4% from the three-point line as he has been lethal from downtown up to this point in the season. Look for him to continue making it rain from the outside on Wednesday.

Oregon State Looks To Stay Undefeated At Home

The Oregon State Beavers have looked extremely impressive so far this season. The Beavers currently have a winning record through three games including a 20 point victory against Wyoming on the road in their last game. In that game, Oregon State's offense was great as it scored 83 points while shooting 49.1% from the floor. Oregon State got out to an early lead and essentially coasted the rest of the way for an easy victory. Now, Oregon State has the luxury of returning home where it is undefeated this season and has scored at least 80 points in both of those home games. The Beavers will look to remain undefeated at Gill Coliseum on Wednesday as the home crowd should continue providing a spark.

Leading the Beavers offensively is senior forward Tres Tinklewho has been amazingso far this season. He is averaging a team-high 21.5 points per game along with 10.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists. In addition, he has also been extremely efficient from the floor as he is shooting 52.5% from the floor. Tinkle will graduate as one of the greatest basketball players in this program's history and he will look to put on a show at every home game that he has left.

Oregon State's most underrated player is senior center Kylor Kelley who has been solid so far this season. He is averaging 12.8 points per game along with 4.8 rebounds while shooting 58.1% from the floor. In addition, he is also an elite rim protector as he is averaging a whopping 3.3 blocks per game which is the most on the roster by a wide margin. Now, Kelley will look for another solid performance at home.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Oregon State is the better team in this game and I expect the Beavers to continue playing well at home on Wednesday. Oregon State has faced a much tougher schedule up to this point in comparison to UCSB and it is still 3-1 so I think that Oregon State is not getting enough respect in this matchup. UCSB enters this game following a disappointing home loss to Rice in its last game and I think that it will come out a bit flat on the road as a result as that loss might still be lingering in the minds of the Gauchos. Oregon State also has the best player on the floor and the better overall team so I will take the home team.

Prediction: Oregon State

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Oregon State's offense has been solid all season long as it is averaging 79.8 points per game through its first four games of the regular season so I think that it will continue to score at will on Wednesday. Meanwhile, UCSB has also been effective offensively as it is averaging 75.0 points per game so I can see this total getting into the 150s. Plus, both teams are not afraid to push the pace when there are opportunities in transition so I think that both teams should get a decent amount of opportunities at the rim and at the free throw line. Give me the over as a result.

Prediction: Over

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Oregon State has the talent to open up a big lead in the first 20 minutes and I expect that to occur at home on Wednesday. Oregon State is one of the most underrated teams in the country while UC Santa Barbara has been a bit underwhelming up to this point in the season and I question just how well the Gauchos will play in its first game outside of California this season. I expect UCSB to come out flat as a result due to the traveling as Oregon State will use its great home crowd to its advantage en route to a double digit lead in the first half. Give me the home team.

Prediction: Oregon State 1H
