The Wildcats enter this game at 3-5 on the year while the Utes are 7-2.

Wildcats Look For 3rd Win In A Row

The Wildcats won't win this one outright but they will be trying to at least keep the game close. The Cats enter this game having won their last two games in a row but they were against very weak opponents. The Wildcats come in at just 3-5 on the year but we must note that they have played the 95th ranked schedule in the nation. That is according to KenPom. The Wildcats have averaged 96 ppg in their three wins but just 56.8 ppg in their five losses. Good luck with this defense.

In their last game, the Wildcats completely pummeled Westcliff by a score of 86-46. The Wildcats shot a solid 50% from the field overall, including 35% (8/23) from downtown. They will need their offense to step up thins one. The defense for the Wildcats was very strong against Westcliff as they held them to just 26& shooting from the floor overall, including a mere 18% (5/28) of their shots from long range. Leading their attack was Jerrick Harding (20.1 ppg) who had 20 points while Michal Kozak (5.5 ppg) and Dima Zdor (4.4 ppg) each had 13.

Weber State enters this game ranked 194th in the nation in scoring at 71.5 ppg, 86th in field goal percentage at 46.3%, 86th in three-point shooting at 36.1% and 295th in free-throw shooting at 65.4%. On the defensive end of the floor, they are ranked 168th in points allowed at 67.9 ppg, 289th in defensive FG% at 45.6% and 232nd in three-point defense at 33.9%.

Utes Crush Central Arkansas

The Utah Utes are off to a nice 7-2 start to their year and they have been led by a very strong offense that ranks in the top 10 in the nation in scoring. In their last game, they completely obliterated Central Arkansas at home by a score of 98-67. It was just a 13 point lead at the break but Utah outscored the Bears 43-35 in the 2nd frame. It turned into an easy win thanks to a powerful 2nd half. Utah has now won their last three games in a row and while they are off to a nice start overall they have faced the 266th ranked schedule. Tougher games are on the horizon for the Utes.

Back to the win over Central Arkansas. The Utes were led by Timmy Allen (20.8 ppg) who had 24 points while Alfonso Plummer (6.6 ppg) had 18, plus both Gach (12.1 ppg) and Mikael Jantunen (7.1) each had 13. Utah shot 51% from the field overall, including 37% (11/30) from long range. The defense was very good as the Bears shot just 37% from the field overall, including 20% (3/15) while forcing 21 turnovers.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

Weber State has struggled in the early going this year and I will look for that to continue here. They have not had a very good offense so far while their defense has been average at best. The Utes have not played a great slate of games thus far but they have still been poinding the teams they have played and their offense has been one of the best in the nation. The Wildcats will not be able to keep up with the Utes in this one.

Prediction: Utah -9.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

The Utes have been a strong offensive team this year as they have averaged 85.6 ppg and on 51.5% shooting, which is also one of the best marks in the nation. The Wildcats have been average on offense but this is the best offense they have faced so far. The Utes have allowed 7-8 ppg at the other end of the court and Weber State has averaged 71.5 ppg on the season so far. Utah plays at a pace that ranks as 147th in the nation and I feel they will get it where they want it. The Over is 6-1 in Weber State's last seven games following a straight-up win of more than 20 points and 11-1 in Utah's last 12 games on Saturday.

Prediction: Over 143
