Full-Game Side Bet
I am taking Maryland in this matchup. Purdue has now lost two straight games and three out of their last four games overall, and as a result, they have dropped out of the AP Top 25 rankings. The Boilermakers defense hasn’t been as sharp recently as they have allowed an average of 79.3 points in their last three losses.
Furthermore, Maryland continues to excel, winning seven out of their first eight games of the season highlighted by remarkable defensive play. They are limiting opponents to 39.7% shooting, and they just held Penn State to 59 points in their latest action.
Prediction: Maryland Terrapins
Full-Game Total Pick
I expect a low-scoring contest. Purdue has only averaged 64.5 points in their last two games, and Maryland is defending well, plus the under is 4-1 in the Boilermaker’s last five games overall.
In addition, Maryland has only scored 71 and 66 points respectively in their last two games, and Purdue is only conceding an average of 68 points on the season. The under is 15-6 in Maryland’s last 21 games overall, and I expect it to convert again in this one.
Full-Game Prop Bet
I am confident Maryland can have a productive night offensively. Purdue just allowed 73 points to Florida State and 76 points to Michigan, and Maryland features a higher field goal percentage than both those teams. Maryland is shooting a dazzling 50% on the season, and I expect another efficient performance.
Prediction: Maryland Team Total: Over
Half-Time Total Bet
The under on the halftime total is worth a look as I expect a defensive battle throughout this contest. Also, both Purdue and Maryland are averaging more points in the second half this season. They are both averaging 39 points in the first half compared to 41 points in the second half.
