This Friday, there is an NCAAB matchup between the Idaho State Bengals and the Pepperdine Waves. This will take place at the Firestone Fieldhouse.
Idaho State Looks To Get Over .500The Idaho State Bengals have looked like an average college basketball team up to this point in the season. The Bengals have split their first six games and they will have the opportunity to get back over .500 with a road victory on Friday. In its last game, Idaho State destroyed a non-division one team by 59 points. In that game, Idaho State scored 102 points while shooting an insane 72.1% from the floor. Now, the Bengals will look for another solid offensive performance against a below-average division one defense.
Leading the Bengals offensively is junior guard Tarik Cool who has looked okay this season. He is averaging a team-high 13.2 points per game along with 3.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds. However, he has been pretty inefficient as he is shooting just 39.3% from the floor and 33.3% from the three-point line.
Idaho State's most underrated player is senior guard Jared Stutzman who has looked pretty good so far this season. He is averaging 12.3 points per game along with 3.2 rebounds. In addition, he has also been extremely efficient as he is shooting 51.0% from the floor and 40.0% from the three-point line.
Pepperdine Looks To Snap Losing StreakThe Pepperdine Waves have looked like a very underwhelming basketball team up to this point in the season. The Waves have lost six of their first nine games and they will have the opportunity to potentially turn around their season on Friday. To make matters worse, Pepperdine enters this game having lost each of its last five games as it will look to snap this losing streak at home. Luckily, Pepperdine is favored by double digits in this game so it should be able to get back to its winning ways on Friday.
Leading the Waves offensively is junior guard Colbey Ross who has looked great this season. He is averaging a team-high 20.1 points per game along with 7.3 assists and 4.1 rebounds. In addition, he is also shooting 92.0% from the free throw line so he has the ability to put games away late when he is presented with the opportunity.
Pepperdine's most underrated player is senior forward Kameron Edwards who has looked pretty good so far this season. He is averaging 17.3 points per game along with 5.6 rebounds. However, Edwards is also averaging 3.5 fouls per game and 2.5 turnovers per game so he will need to do a better job at limiting his mistakes in the future.
