Denver Looks To Snap Losing Streak

The Denver Pioneers have looked like an awful college basketball team so far this season. The Pioneers have lost 20 of their first 25 games and they enter this game following a seven-point loss to Purdue Fort Wayne on the road in their last game. In that game, Denver's offense struggled as it only scored 63 points while committing 17 turnovers. To make matters worse, Denver enters this game in terrible form as it has lost each of its last five games. Now, the Pioneers will be looking to snap this losing streak with a conference road game up next. However, Denver has lost each of its first 11 road games this season so the odds of it actually winning this game are very slim.

Leading the Pioneers offensively is sophomore guardJase Townsend who has looked pretty good this season as he is averaging a team-high 17.9 points along with 5.4 rebounds per game. However, he is also averaging a team-high 2.5 turnovers per game so he might need to limit his mistakes in the future.

Denver's most underrated player is senior guardAde Murkey who has been solid this season. He is currently averaging 16.4 points per game along with a team-high 5.6 rebounds. In addition, he is averaging 1.2 steals per game so he has been very active on both sides of the ball.

Jackrabbits Look To Extend Winning Streak

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits have looked like a very solid college basketball team up to this point in the season. The Jackrabbits have won 18 of their first 26 games and they enter this game on a high note after beating Omaha by 17 points at home in their last game. In that game, South Dakota State's offense was solid as it scored 81 points while shooting 51.7% from the floor. In addition, South Dakota State has won each of its last four games so it will be looking to extend this winning streak with another home game up next. Luckily, the Jackrabbits have won all 13 home games this season so they should be able to put together another solid performance on Friday.

Leading the Jackrabbits offensively is junior forward Douglas Wilson who has looked pretty good this season. He is averaging a team-high 17.9 points per game along with a team-high 6.4 rebounds. In addition, he is shooting 60.7% from the floor so he has been very efficient offensively.

South Dakota State's most underrated player is sophomore forward Matt Dentlinger who has looked really good this season. He is currently averaging 11.8 points per game along with 5.8 rebounds. In addition, he is averaging a team-high 1.1 blocks per game so he has been a solid rim protector up to this point.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Rating:

These two teams have been headed in opposite directions ever since conference play began so I have to take the better team in this game. South Dakota State has a 9-2 record in conference play while Denver has a 1-10 record in conference play so I expect to see the Pioneers struggle once again in this conference road game. Plus, South Dakota State is still undefeated at home so I think that the Jackrabbits should be able to take care of business pretty easily against this inferior opponent. As a result, I think that there is some value with the home team in this game.

Prediction: South Dakota State -15.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Both of these teams have been average at best defensively so I think that this total should be a bit higher. Denver  is allowing 75.9 points per game while South Dakota State is allowing 69.3 points per game so I think that this game has a great chance of getting into the 150s. Plus, Denver loves to play at a very fast pace as it ranks 51st in the nation in adjusted offensive tempo according to Kenpom Rankings so I think that this game should feature a ton of opportunities in transition which bodes well for the over. As a result, I think that there is some value with the over in this spot.

Prediction: Over 148.5

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

South Dakota State is still undefeated at home this season and Denver is still winless on the road so I think that this game should turn pretty ugly within the first 20 minutes. Denver has been awful all season long and it is in the middle of a five-game losing streak so I am skeptical of its ability to get back on track against the best team in the conference on the road. Plus, South Dakota State is averaging about nine more points per game so it should be able to score enough points in order to cover this point spread. Give me the home team.

Prediction: South Dakota State 1H
