This Sunday, there is an NCAAB matchup between the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Northwestern Wildcats. This game will take place at the Welsh-Ryan Arena at approximately 3:00 P.M EST.

Northwestern Looks To Snap Losing Streak

The Northwestern Wildcats have looked like a terrible college basketball team this season. The Wildcats have lost 19 of their first 25 games and they enter this game on a low note after losing to Maryland on the road by nine points in their last game. In that game, Northwestern's offense struggled as it only scored 67 points while shooting just 42.9% from the floor. To make matters worse, Northwestern has lost each of its last ten games so it will be looking to snap that losing streak in this conference home game on Sunday. However, the Wildcats have lost 14 of their first 15 conference games this season so they have looked awful against conference rivals up to this point.

Leading the Wildcats offensively is freshman forwardMiller Kopp who has looked pretty good this season as he is averaging a team-high 13.2 points per game along with 3.6 rebounds. However, he is also shooting just 41.2% from the floor so he has been pretty inefficient offensively.

Northwestern's most underrated player is freshman centerRyan Young who has looked pretty good this season as he is currently averaging 9.2 points per game along with a team-high 6.2 rebounds. In addition, he is shooting 56.7% from the floor so he has been very efficient offensively up to this point.

Best Bets for this Game

Full-Game Side Bet

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Even though Northwestern is the home team for this game, Minnesota has been the much better basketball team all season long so I have to take the Golden Gophers in this game. Northwestern has lost each of its last ten games so it has struggled a lot lately and I cannot trust the Wildcats in this home game. Plus, Minnesota is allowing about three fewer points per game so I think that it should be able to get enough stops in order to cover this point spread. As a result, I think that there is some value on the road team in this game. Give me the road team.

Prediction: Minnesota -3.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Rating:

Both of these teams have been average at best offensively and solid defensively so I think that this total is a bit too high. Northwestern is averaging just 64.9 points per game while allowing just 69.3 points per game while Minnesota is averaging just 69.3 points per game while allowing just 66.0 points per game so I think that this game should land somewhere in the 120s. Plus, Minnesota loves to play at a very slow pace as it ranks 281st in the nation in adjusted offensive tempo according to Kenpom Rankings so I think that this game should be played primarily in the halfcourt which will result in fewer possessions for both teams. Give me the under.

Prediction: Under 132

Half-Time Side Pick

Insiders Status:

Rating:

Northwestern has been playing some terrible basketball lately as it has lost each of its last ten games so I cannot trust the Wildcats to keep this game close within the first 20 minutes. Minnesota has already beaten Northwestern by nine points and it is better in almost every statistic so I think that the Golden Gophers should be able to get out to a fast start. Plus, Minnesota is averaging roughly five more rebounds per game so it should be able to create enough second-chance points in order to cover this first half spread. Give me the road team.

Prediction: Minnesota 1H
